What a wonderful opportunity to get away from the noise of the surrounding tourist attractions in the Arenal/La Fortuna area. The Arenal Oasis guest huts are clean and quiet, surrounded by lush secondary forest. The sanctuary is home to numerous birds, bugs, frogs and lizards, so there is no end of interesting wildlife and jungle sounds. Staff is friendly and...

I booked this paradise through a travel agency and let me say it was the perfect choice for me. The setting in the jungle was spectacular with the many different species of birds and wildlife that I would hear at night and wake up to. I absolutely loved the staff they were extremely helpful and informative with my many, many...

We went on a night safari here with our 2 boys aged 9 and 6. It starts around 5.45 and lasts about 2 hours . Our guide was really friendly and knowledgable and made the whole trip really interesting as well as safe. My eldest is really keen on frogs and we saw lots and the boys were really happy...

If you're a wildlife lover and especially a bird watcher, this place will enchant you. The ecolodges are set amongst a thick lush garden, a jungle even... At night, except for the path illuminated by soft "mushroom lights", it's pitch black. All you can hear is the wind shaking the trees and the rain dropping on the roof of your...

Lovely little rustic chalets surrounded by trees. We spotted more birds here at breakfast than we did on the rest of the trip. There is a small forest and garden area you can walk around and they do a great little night walk to spot frogs. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The included breakfast is really good...

Great location for short drives to attractions, La Fortuna, Arenal hiking trails. There is a grocery store at the top of the street for water, snacks, etc. Unpaved but smooth road to the entrance, less than 5 minutes from the main road, but the cabins are surrounded by trees putting you in the jungle. It has a very nice feel....

Real gem in lush greenery away from main road. We had spacious wooden house with the parking space next to it. Lots of space inside and great bathroom spacious enough for 2 people. Very quiet and peaceful place. Over breakfast (which is very good, with number of choices) you can observe numerous colourful birds which are attracted by the fruits,...

It was a simple bungalow completely surrounded by jungle. It suited our needs. The lighting in the place could be better. We had to get the overhead fan/light mended, as you couldn't turn the light off at night without the fan going off as well. With no air conditioning, the fan was definitely needed in the night. The open breakfast...

As a warning, this hotel's room and facilities only rate two and half star. However, I am giving it four star with the reasons below: 1. Staff is extremely kind and helpful (extra kudos to Jose) 2. Food in the Restaurant at the lodge is good and price is even better 3. Free breakfast with free bird watching every morning,...

This wonderful place is the results of several years of conservation, allowing to a different species of animal a new home; at the beginning of the 80's was a big cattle field and now it is a paradise for Sloths, Mexican Anteater, Gray Fox, Ocelots, howler Monkeys, Toucans, Manakines, Hummingbirds, Turkeys, Tree Frogs, Glass Frogs and Poison Dart Frogs, Snakes, Lizards and much more...Accomplishing this rich natural environment, the Rojas Bonilla family created some cabins out in the woods, restaurant and one thematic trail of a several stations all along the refuge, where the visitors get a speech about natural history of the species. ... more   less
