This was our first time to Costa Rica and it was absolutely amazing. The tree houses were awesome. We stayed in the frog, which is one of the smaller tree houses, but there was plenty of room for the two of us. We could hear the birds and monkeys and night were able to see some of the wildlife during...

My wife and I love animals and love animals being able to live in wild. So living in a beautiful, clean tree house in the Costa Rican jungle was an absolute delight. We watched a beautiful sloth from our porch for hours. A playful family of howler monkeys were also easily observable from our deck. Hosts Mark and Lucy were...

We stayed in 4 different hotels while in CR and this was by far the best place for impromptu wildlife encounters. We met a mexican dwarf hairy porcupine, an armadillo, a family of howler monkeys, an agouti, and tons of birds. (Momots, collard aracaris, cuckoos, hummingbirds, and more!) To top it off, the breakfasts were delicious, the treehouse small but...

Our visit to the Tree House Hotel was absolutely fabulous. Raeann welcomed us and was a wonderful hostess – I could have sat outside her office and talked to her for hours. We were continually asking questions about the country, the animals we were seeing, and the people in Costa Rica, and she was so patient in answering them all....

This is a place not to be missed. The tree houses, which are actually cabins situated 20' off the ground among the branches of large trees, are perfect. All wood and rustic, with a bathroom (nice warm shower) and a great balcony to enjoy the coffee they bring you at 5:30am each morning, just when the sun is rising. What...

My wife and two kids (ages 9 and 7) and I stayed for five nights in late December 2012. We had a terrific time. We loved waking up to the tropical birds and other animals, as well as great breakfasts (included in the relatively inexpensive room prices). We went on several great tours arranged through the owner of the Tree...

I knew when we were planning our trip to Costa Rica that we couldn't miss out on the chance to experience staying in a treehouse and we were not disappointed!! From the very first email to inquire about the treehouses and up to and including our stay there, Mark and Lucy were quick to offer any help with our questions...

Five of us shared the largest treehouse and loved it. We stayed two nights and had the great fortune to fall asleep to heavy rain the second night. The coffee and food for the birds for the a.m. was a great touch and the bathroom was amazing...sink, mirror, open air shower. We loved the porch and the privacy. Great location...

We just returned from the Tree House Hotel. We had a wonderful time. Mark and Lucy, the managers at the Tree House, were great and were very helpful. The Tree Houses were great, loved the screened in showers. The wildlife was great. We had Tucans on our front porch one morning. Also Rolando who did the jungle tours at night...

If you're looking for something a little off the beaten track in Costa Rica, this place is for you. We had a blast staying with our two kids (ages 9 and 7) right in the trees with the animals. Birds are everywhere--a couple of toucans came to visit us while we were there--and we saw armadillos, spiders, a sloth and...

Tree Houses Hotel is a bed and breakfast hotel conveniently located off the main road that runs through La Fortuna and around the Arenal Volcano. We are a short 25 minute drive to the high tourist area. People seek us out with that in mind, to be away from it all but close enough to enjoy all the fun adventure the La Fortuna, Arenal Volcano area has to offer. We have just 5 tree houses (each very private) on 8 acres and we are surrounded by a 70 acre wildlife refuge with a waterfall, pools to swim and a beautiful river. Each tree house features A/C, warm water showers, refrigerators and safes. There are few hotels like this in the world and none other in Costa Rica.
