I am 18/female and as a graduation gift my mother took me on a trip to Costa Rica. When I thought of Costa Rica, I thought of beautiful rain forests and exotic wild animals. Green, lush scenery and cool trails to immerse myself in it all. The Tree Houses Hotel not only filled but exceeded my expectations, so much so...

Excellent stay! You get your own private tree house which is very comfortable. Only downside was a cold shower. Breakfast was very yummy! And the hosts were really helpful. The best thing was being surrounded by sloths, howler monkeys and many different birds. All viewed on your private deck. They don't serve lunch/dinner here but there's a nice soda near...

Staying with my family in The Sloth Treehouse was truly an amazing experience... and while the atmosphere is rough and tumble exactly as you'd expect and desire, it so warm and inviting that you almost forget you are staying in a tree house. Our first impression of Mark was positive when we booked the reservation long before arriving in Costa...

Unbelievable! Mark and Lucy are truly two very special people that made the stay so warm and welcoming! From our initial conversations and emails we knew we had picked the perfect place! Our family of 5 (kids ages 11, 13, and 15) stayed in the Frog House for 4 nights. It was the start of a 13 day Costa Rican...

This was a very cool place to stay - especially for our kids (ages 9 and 7). We stayed in the Sloth tree house, and the girls slept up the ladder in the loft which they thought was very cool. Our hosts were awesome, both in the booking and during our visit. Loved the honor system on the drinks, and...

My wife and two kids were fortunate enough to have stayed at the Tree Houses Hotel (Hummingbird Treehouse) during the first leg of or 10 day vacation in Costa Rica. Highlights include the wake-up coffee/tea on our deck and being able to watch the exotic birds nibble on the plantains left for them. Breakfast was oustanding! Mango-filled french toast and...

We stayed in the Toucan tree house and it was lovely. It has a nice balcony with a table and benches. At about 5:30 in the morning the staff leaves coffee on the table and puts a plantain on a shelf attached to the balcony so when you get up you can relax with your fresh hot Costa Rican coffee...

Very good hotel, nice to sleep in a tree house, breakfast is very tastefull. One disadvantage and that is the situation of the tree house. It was located just nearby the mail road and trucks and motorbikes disturbed our nights a little bit. Conclusion: the most interesting accommodation during our holidays, but the only one which was not located in...

Spent three nights with family at Tree Houses Hotel. Stayed in the Frog tree house which was very comfortable and which had a nice balcony that we spent early morning and evening sitting out on listening to nature. Mark and Lucy are amazing hosts! This was by far the best part of our trip in Costa Rica. We decided to do this at the end our trip and only spent a night here. What a bad decision...We should have stayed here for the entire week! It is about a 20-25 min drive from Baldi hot springs. The breakfast...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Tree Houses Hotel is a bed and breakfast hotel conveniently located off the main road that runs through La Fortuna and around the Arenal Volcano. We are a short 25 minute drive to the high tourist area. People seek us out with that in mind, to be away from it all but close enough to enjoy all the fun adventure the La Fortuna, Arenal Volcano area has to offer. We have just 5 tree houses (each very private) on 8 acres and we are surrounded by a 70 acre wildlife refuge with a waterfall, pools to swim and a beautiful river. Each tree house features A/C, warm water showers, refrigerators and safes. There are few hotels like this in the world and none other in Costa Rica. There is something so very exciting about spending the night high in the forest canopy, wildlife all around you, safe and cozy in a tree house hotel in Costa Rica. ... more   less
