More like a hotel than a hostel. We stayed in one of the single rooms and have absolutely no complaints. The property is well groomed and clean. The pool is clean, the common area is really laid back and comfortable. We never ate from the kitchen so don't know about the food but the meals did look hearty. For the... More

We stayed here for two nights in a 8 bed dorm with bathroom and A/C. The location is great, rooms are alright, chill area is cool, nice music and a pool. We had a great stay here. Only thing you dont really have a kitchen so you obviously have to order food but I mean for two nights thats totally... More

No, really. This is the best hostel ever. How can you complain about a beautiful resort with beautiful people. Nacho, and his brother do a fantastic job at being helpful and friendly with the guests. Went during low season so prices were super cheap. Hostel is located in plain aight if Arenal volcano. DO NOT stay elsewhere when in La... More

Stayed 2 nights here and would stay here again. Friendly and helpful staff, nice to have bar and restaurant with cozy atmosphere with big screen TV. Rooms were basic but very clean. Nice patio and pool area. Secure grounds and parking. Terrific view of volcano in the morning!

I would return to Arenal Backpackers Resort because of what it offers and its cleanliness. Although, pricey for a "backpackers" stay -- It was nice to have some nice facilities. Stayed in a tent for 2 people for 2 nights for $34/night - it was a comfortable sleep. PROS: - great place to stay. tent was clean and free from... More

Stayed there for 3 nights did the tour to Arenal volcano and the hot spring. The hostel looks like a fancy hotel with a big swimming pool new rooms air condition restaurant and many more facilities. The location is good even though it is a small town. The beds were really comfort and the toilet was super clean with hot... More

Although they refer to themselves as a resort, it's still supposed to be a place for backpackers, meaning it should accommodate people on a budget. We paid $33 for a room with shared bathroom, for us this is not a budget option. Besides this, they charge a 5% fee if you pay with credit card, something that is not allowed... More

I stayed in one of the private double rooms down the back. It was cheap and clean, although the decor a little drab and depressing. The view of the volcano from the porch was magnificent when the clouds are gone. The pool is also nice. I found the guys on the front desk to be really helpful and they booked... More

This hostel was a fantastic place to stay in La Fortuna. We stayed in one of the double tents and it was such a unique experience, but you need to watch out for all the Mosquitos! They are everywhere! The hostel is close to town, offers a pool, tight rope, tour information, and a little cafe that is over-priced. I... More

This place is incredibly affordable for the amenities they provide! Very helpful staff, and a fun social atmosphere in the main "hang out" area by the pool. The location is right down the road from the Cerro chato trailhead and Catarata de la fortuna waterfall! All the famous hot springs are about a $10 cab ride down the road. They... More
