My husband, adult daughter are here now, exulting in the top-tier genuine hospitality, perfect casita and incredible opportunity to live in the midst of a rain forest teeming with wildlife, flora and fauna we have never seen. I need quiet on vacation and here it is (villa 34 but they are all private and tucked away). I need good and varied food — and there are several excellent restaurants. We were so lucky to experience a tour guide named Mariella, who has an encyclopedic knowledge of birds, animals and the natural world. We adored our excursions with her! All the staff are genuinely helpful and proud of their environment. You can walk everywhere or ask for a golf cart that will appear within minutes driven by another friendly staff. I am sad to leave tomorrow. Best vacation ever!!

Hotel's Favourite
My husband and I loved our experience at Nayara Springs! All the other reviews are correct; the experience in person is better than just reading the reviews or seeing the pictures online. The employees, villa, food, excursions, etc. really make this location special! A few things that the reviews didn’t tell us prior to our trip that I wish we would have known. 1) You do not need to transfer from USD to Colon. USD is accepted and appreciated for tips both on the resort and off. But do definitively tip, as everyone does go above and beyond to ensure your needs are met! 2) You can drink the water! The resort does refill several water containers twice per day in your villa. The water is tap water, but it tastes fine and you can drink it. There is no need to bring your own water to the resort or pay for bottled water on property. 3) We used the private transport offered from the airport to the resort. We are glad we did as walking/biking on the side of the mountain roads is common and especially at night it’s hard to see walkers. In addition, there are several one lane bridges that the locals definitely knew there way around better than we would have. They offer you water or beer and depending on the driver will stop halfway into the drive for a stretch and restroom break. 4) There is a lot to do on the property. Everyone is different, but find a balance between activities on and off the property. We planned everything off property not realizing that there were several informational “classes” you could participate in (e.g. coffee or mixology class). In addition there are a lot of daily free activities. It’s easy to get overbooked and miss out on relaxation, so plan accordingly! 5) All of the restaurants are delicious! We went in thinking that Amor Loco was going to be the “best” restaurant based on the other reviews. While it was a highlight, we ate at all the other restaurants and all were really good! We honestly did not have a bad meal onsite and enjoyed all the locations. 6) The employees really want you to have a great experience. We had one minor “complaint” and it was amazing how fast the restaurant manger apologized and adjusted to ensure our ask was accommodated. It’s rare to see this in today’s world, but did not go unnoticed and was greatly appreciated that our ask was immediately acknowledged and met. 7) If possible, book during the offseason. We went during the usual spring break and several employees commented that the return guests always come back during the offseason as the experience is ever better when he resort is less crowded. Honestly, I’m not sure how the experience could get better - but I will believe them!! 8) Plan to not want to leave!! Seriously, we don’t repeat locations often, as we are always on the hunt for new destinations to try. But we will be back to Nayara.

I feel like I am still in a dream since we left. Nayara Springs was absolutely wonderful. We did a split stay in Costa Rica and Nayara Springs was the last leg of our trip giving us 4 days to enjoy this beautiful resort and let me tell you, 4 days isn't long enough! I'd go back in a heartbeat and stay much longer next time. From Mariangel making us feel so welcome at check-in and continually checking on us during our stay. She even decorated our room for our Honeymoon/ my birthday which made us feel so special. Jack the driver/bellhop was so kind and fun to talk to. Michael was our waiter in Mis Amores and also brought breakfast to our room one morning and he was so good! We loved him. Jose in the Nostalgia Wine Bar was wonderful to talk to and so kind! There are so many staff members at this resort that we saw regularly and they always seemed to remember us. It made us feel like family. The housekeeping was top tier! I have never stayed in a cleaner room and things were always left so perfectly. Turn down service in the evening was so nice and they always left us a little treat by the bed. It really is a magical place and so worth visiting!

This place is beyond words! It is breathtakingly spectacular. The grounds are incredible. Nature walks with pelicans, tons of birds, even sloths. There is so much to do at Arenal Volcano and La Fortuna, but save time to just spend on the grounds because it is absolutely one-of-a-kind. The food here and in la fortuna was 5 stars. The rooms are gorgeous and even nice than billed- loved the private hot springs. I will definitely be back

Pleasant experience. Very friendly staff. They go above and beyond to accommodate your needs. Marieangel at the reception welcomed us and was extremely helpful through the stay. The villa was well done, comfortable and spacious about 1500sft. Beds were comfortable, hot spring Jacuzzi was exceptionally good. Rooms were done twice a day and well stocked bar with beer and snacks for no extra fee. Golf carts are provided for transportation from room to restaurant or spa. All the Resturant’s serve delicious food and service is top notch and reasonably priced. When we dined in La Fortuna downtown we realized one would pay more for less downtown. The developers did an amazing job with the property and landscaping, probably one of the best I have seen from traveling around the world. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did !!!!

What a place! We spent three nights at this top notch stunning resort. Our villa was pure luxury and the service was outstanding in every way. Unfortunately we were so busy with activities in the region (suspended bridges, La Fortuna waterfall, lava fields hike— booked with Jacamar Tours, and zip lining )— all of which I highly recommend— we didn't have time to fully explore the resort itself and its various amenities. Pizza at Mis Amores was a winner. Special thanks to our gretting hostess, Fernanda, who gave us a warm and thorough overview along withhelpful suggestions. Would definitely stay here again!

Loved Nayara Springs. Excellent place to stay as a couple celebrating their anniversary. Food quality was top notch with excellent options and variety. Different cocktail menu at each pool or restaurant made it nice. We are very choosy with food and they did not disappoint. Nayara provided a guide for the hanging bridges + la fortuna waterfall tour, an excellent experience. Complimentary yoga class was nice touch. Volcanic mud massage at the spa was nice. We did notice some maintenance noise but I guess this is necessary. Absolutely no complaints about Nayara after we went to our next hotel, The Springs….which is a romantic couple’s vacation hell! If you’re looking for top notch accommodations, look no further than Nayara if staying in la fortuna. Note that if you’re staying at Nayara springs, gardens, or tented camp, it is all one property and you’ll have access to the restaurants and pools of all places. We enjoyed this and it gave us a lot of areas to explore. Nayara Springs is adults only. We did notice some children at the pools of the other areas (gardens and rented camp pools and restaurants) but overall it was fine.

Absolutely wonderful luxury property! The staff here is terrific and took care of us at every turn, starting on Day 1. We had significant flight delays and changes as a result, which got us to the hotel much later than we expected. We landed at Liberia airport at 8pm, and with the drive to Nayara we didn’t check in until around 11pm. The staff worked with us on making sure we had a driver (Ronald, who was terrific!), and as soon as we got to the property they helped us with our bags and drove us to our room in a golf cart, where there were sandwiches and treats waiting for us. The hospitality continued the whole trip - the staff knew our names, made recommendations for tours (thank you MariaAngel!), and were always warm and friendly. The rooms are gorgeous and clean (thank you Angelica!). The bathroom itself was huge with separate areas for my husband and me. A large two-person shower was in the middle of the bathroom, and a second outdoor shower (again, two-person) was just outside. The bed was comfortable, and there was even a sitting room area with a TV (which we never turned on). The best part was the private hot spring pool off of our back patio. There’s a table, chairs, hammock and even a bed to lounge on, plus a sizable pool we had all to ourselves. Our room (villa 10) had a great view of the Arenal volcano - just a fantastic experience. Every meal was excellent. The breakfast buffet had a nice variety, and the breakfast restaurant had a wide selection of options, too. Fruit was left for us each day, and a small sweet treat was waiting for us each night with turn-down service. We splurged on the 7-course dinner at Amor Loco one night - it was absolutely terrific. Each dish was creative, beautifully presented, and truly delicious. I won’t go into detail so I don’t spoil any surprises, but just know this is a very memorable dinner. (And our server, Robin, was a terrific host!). The grounds are stunning. You really are living in the rainforest. Trails throughout the property are well-maintained by a dedicated grounds crew. Beautiful flowers, including stunning orchids, abound. Walking around the property takes you to secluded hot springs where you can relax. The pools are beautiful with plenty of seating. We often saw sloths, iguanas, lizards, birds and other wildlife right on the grounds. If you do venture off the property (which I highly recommend - there’s so much to see and do!), the tours are fantastic. We did the hanging bridges tour and saw howler and squirrel monkeys, tons of birds, iguana, a snake, frogs and much more. Our guide, Chris, was fantastic. Lunch afterwards in the park area was a nice way to unwind after the rainforest walk and our exploring. We also went to Caño Negro, which was otherworldly. Hanzell was our tour guide and he is absolutely wonderful. He had given us a nature tour a couple days earlier on the Nayara property, and his enthusiasm and skill at spotting four sloths, toucans, iguanas and more really impressed us. We actually hoped he’d be our guide for the Caño Negro tour, and he was! His skill was on display there, too - we sat in the front of the boat with our breakfast laid out for us, and from the minute the boat started moving Hanzell was spotting wildlife. Howler, squirrel and capuchin monkeys; tons of tropical birds; long nose bats; the list goes on and no. We got out of the boat a few times to wander under trees filled with monkeys for better pictures. He was patient with all our photography, and was just a joy to be around. The third off-site tour we did was kayaking in Lake Arenal. This was a lot of fun and a nice way to see a little bit of the lake. We didn’t see much wildlife, though there were quite a few egrets and another type of bird I forget - we saw several large flocks of them. The highlight of this tour was really the kayaking itself (thanks, Kevin, for a great paddle!) and great views of the Arenal volcano. Finally, we participated in the nighttime frog walk tour the hotel offers. Mao, our guide, was worried we wouldn’t see anything because it hadn’t been raining that day. But he found us plenty! We saw all sorts of frogs, a snake, birds, and even a sloth. It was a great tour! Overall, our experience at Nayara was wonderful. We definitely splurged on this hotel and the private tours, but we were never disappointed. The property is gorgeous, the food is terrific and the staff are warm and friendly. We’re already looking at another Nayara stay in the future!

We visited Nayara Springs for our Honeymoon in March 2024. Nayara's reviews and comments on the exceptional customer service made us strongly consider and ultimately pick Nayara for our Honeymoon. In the end, we left loving the the resort and the people, but I wouldn't say the experience was above and beyond in a notable way from other places we've stayed. My perspective is it was great because you are in a scenic stunning place, the food and drinks are wonderful, and the people in Costa Rica are incredible - not necessarily because I feel like they never missed the mark. Pros: -Amor Loco 4 and 7 course tasting menu is amazing! Visit Johan, Michael and Leo. The experience here is top notch! -Nostalgic is a wonderful wine bar and we found ourselves here every night to have wine and a small bite before dinner. -The room is STUNNING and SPACIOUS! The view is unparalleled. -They prepared breakfast for us early the morning we left. -Breakfast was amazing every morning! -They were so friendly - the staff always said hi, Pura Vida, or asked to point out animals. They are such nice people! They went out of their way to point out when birds would come to visit. Cons: -Reservations are around 6 PMish or 8 PMish. We wanted to stay in the pool till 5, hit Nostalgia and have a 7 PMish reservation. We tried a couple times to move to 7 and were always told they couldn't accommodate. When we went to dinner, the restaurants were typically at 50% capacity, so there shouldn't have been an issue. I get wanting to control traffic, but a lot of guests were saying they went to La Fortuna downtown for meals and we had every meal at the resort, so accommodating a preferred eating time even once would have been nice. -We were told dessert would be comped at another restaurant the next night due to an issue, and it wasn't comped. -We had a bird in our room that kept us up one night. We shared with the front desk, and when we got home 7 hours later, they still hadn't checked on the room. -They missed housekeeping during our morning time twice, but they did come in the afternoon. -They came to do turn down at 5:30 PM one night while we were getting ready for dinner and didn't come back. Odd, since they have our dinner reservations documented. -We scheduled a golf cart pick up for our last day for check out, and doesn't appear that they noted it anywhere. -The meal at La Terrazza was just OK - it was the same cost of Ayla and Ayla was far superior. Sharing these details to say - this resort was great, and I would absolutely stay here again, but the perfect reviews weren't quite our experience. What is a little odd is we received an email after our departure from Karina, a resident manager, saying she heard we expressed concern about the cost of the drinks. She asked for additional feedback. I sent a follow up email stating I wasn't sure what she was referencing, and that we enjoyed the bars, spending time at all of them happily spending our money (the drinks are fabulous). I did share the above feedback. I asked Karina to share with me where she heard that feedback, and I still have not received any response to that email (not in response to where that feedback came from or my other feedback outlined above). It reinforces our perspective that the experience we had was more attributed to the great people of Costa Rica, rather than an intentional high customer service resort. We ultimately spent $13k at the resort between our stay, spa, and meals, for 6 nights.
