My girlfriend and I enjoyed staying at Hostel Backpackers in La Fortuna! They had everything ready for us when we arrived and allowed us to check in three hours early. We stayed in a private room and it never felt like we were in a hostel because our room included a private bathroom. The air conditioning was a great as...

From the minute we hit the front door I knew we'd be well taken care of. I was apprehensive never having stayed in a hostel. I found nothing spartan about my accommodations. Those are available but my private room had all of the creature comforts. An all-you-can-eat breakfast was available for about $6. All entertainment and dining options are within...

Location of this hostel is fantastic. Right on the main road, close to everything. Has a great tour desk with really good rates and they will beat other rates. Also good advice on what to do for free in the area and walking routes. Shop next door for late night snacks and beer. Several supermarkets easy walking distance and bars...

Stayed here with a buddy and the first night met a bunch of people we ended up spending 10 days with. The hostel has a party atmosphere to it but also great spot to grab tours to the volcano. Probably the most fun hostel to stay at in town. Cleanliness is a bit meh though. Has a cool pool with...

There is such a mark up on their tours that they sell, 33% from my hostel that i am staying at (of course, i didnt know this until after i already went on the same trip!). Look somewhere else if you want a fun, fairly priced tour!

Yes the hostel is okay even tough all the hostel near by ate as nice. And for the excursion and the transportation they will try to make the most profit possible and advise you the costlier way! By exemple the trekking for the volcano they will charge you 65 USD and in reality it is 55. And for the transportation...

This place is a great example of a fun, laid back hostel. It is very clean, the private bathroom is a nice feature, and I felt very comfortable here. The staff was great, exactly the kind of friendly, helpful people you want to find when you visit a hostel. My favorite part about staying here was the fact that the...

We stayed here for 3 nights and had an upper room with a private bathroom and a twinbed. The room was clean and every day it was cleaned. There were 2 small seats on the balcony and faced the inside of the hotel. There was a bar (to be honest, a bit expsensive), some hammocks and a couple seats. Close by...

Had a great stay because my room mates were lovely. But the room was quite cramped. The shower leaked water and there was no bath mat. None of us could figure out how to get hot water in the shower. The air conditioning did not work well. So it was quite stuffy in our room. The communal areas are comfortable....
