This was our favorite place during our 10 day stay in Costa Rica. It was extremely peaceful and the lodge had stunning views of the volcano and the lake. It takes a while to get to the lodge from La Fortuna, but the trip was well worth it. The food and drinks were fantastic. Breakfast was included in our stay...

Staff helpful and friendly, lots of wildlife and jungle things to see and do, very busy bird feeding area with lots of bird visitors. The restaurant has a beautiful view of the volcano and lake. The food was good and plentyful. Our room was the best with views from all windows and balcony, very clean and well appointed. we were...

We spent 3 days at the Lodge in September, during rainy season. We booked the Smithsonian rooms, which offered amazing views from the patio (you couldn't see the top of the volcano from inside the room, but you could from the patio). This location is the absolute best. Our recommendations: 1. However you get to AOL, drop off your car...

Road to get to the hotel from la Fortuna is a bit bumpy but it's worth it. Beautiful hotel with an awesome volcano view. Lots of wildlife and fun hikes based right out of the hotel. Well maintained property. Loved the pool and hot tub. Bar is open until 10pm. Drinks are a little pricey but all the employees are...

We drove from Playa De Coco and it look about 3 1/2 hrs. We chose not to get GPS ( we heard later that the couple from SB used it and they got lost) in the rental car and looked up directions on Google beforehand. The signs aren't easy to navigate but heading for the cities where the next road...

A little better than expected. Rooms nice and clean, but be careful of photos on web-sites, we found there was the same photo for 2 different types of room. We were very efficiently moved from the first room we were given. Food better than reported on TA. Efficient and friendly staff. Lovely gardens. I would recommend staying here.

Well, we arrived at night. Never did I expect to be able to look off my balcony and see Arenal in plain view. Our plans were all messed up not because of anything the hotel did but what we did. We were misplaced a few times driving to Arenal from the Marriott. We did not get written directions. The view...

We stayed at AOL for three nights during the Christmas time. It was a grand property with lots to offer. It has a great trail system with access to river, Cerro Chato volcano, two hanging bridges and one waterfall. It was free to hike to Cerro Chato from the lodge. In the morning, there were a lot of birds and...

We loved staying at this hotel. The views are breathtaking in all directions. You feel like you're in another world. The rooms are basic but clean but there is so much more to do than stay in the rooms. The restaurant is a little pricey and the food is average but it's pretty much the only option unless you drive...
