We only stayed one night but should have booked three to make the most of the area. Efficiently run with friendly staff - we had a lake view room which was very well equipped with two double beds. Wonderful views from the main balcony and fantastic bird feeder attracting great birds. Saw a Margay which regularly hangs out near the...

We had a good stay for one night here. The dinner at the lodge was great. Our room was very comfortable, with an amazing view of the volcano. It was raining cats and dogs so we skipped the hikes, unfortunately.

We stayed at Arenal Observatory Lodge for 2 nights. The view of the volcano, room, the grounds and staff were all top notch! After staying at several lodges around Costa Rica, it was a nice treat to stay at a place with all the amenities. There is no air conditioning but we didn't need it as the nights were cool...

We spent 3 days at the Arenal Observatory Lodge and stayed in Villa Phil1,2,3 as we were a group of 5. It was a great way to spend the three days. We had 180 degree views from each bedroom and we were located just steps from the main lodge and next to the beginning of the Cerro Chato hike and...

My husband and I stayed here for three days after a week of 'hard-core' birding in Costa Rica. Slogging through ankle deep mud, hiking for hours through the rain forest and enduring cold showers. So when we opened the door to our room - which had a view of the volcano - I nearly wept with delight. The room was...

We visited here for the day only and payed $10 pp to enter the lodge's ground. We were not disappointed. They have a big terrace with grand views of the volcano and lake. The staff hang fruit in an artificial tree to attract birds, and boy... They do come. So very nice bird viewing. Saw a crested Curaçao foraging on...

You need your own car. Bring food from Fortuna back for dinner. Free breakfast is very good but does notbopen until 7am. You can request early breakfast at 630. The free morning hike at 830 is wonderful. No AC. No TV.

Thank you Brannon W for taking the time to provide us with feedback. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. We hope that you found the rooms comfortable without AC. In the pleasantly cool climate that we have at the lodge, AC seems a frivolous use of energy. For this reason, we have opted to not utilize AC on the...

We stayed in a Smithsonian room and had a fabulous view of the volcano. We slept with the blinds open so we could wake up to this view. The grounds are great, lots of birds and plants. Our one regret is that we planned a trip to Cano Negro which meant we were not on the property as long as...

This is a fabulous place to stay in Arenal. With views of the lake and the volcano, hiking and walking trails, an abundance of birds, reptiles, and mammals, gardens, two hanging bridges, you can stay right on the property and see a lot. The deck outside the dining room features a bird feeder that attracts dozens of birds. The gardens...
