Its an open living room space and there are a couple rooms connected to it. The decor is individual, artsy style and you feel like your in somebody's home rather than a normal hostel where your just another guest. The location is great. Directly in the city center and we found it quiet as we didn't have a room facing... More

After staying earlier in my trip more in the countryside, it was convenient and nice to stay more in a commercial area, able to walk around and go out to dinner and for drinks easily. The people are great, it's well decorated and clean. The downside is of course the noise from all the mopeds and cars, but it is... More

Having stayed at other hostels and hotels, this was by far the best that I have slept in! It is centrally located, access to all restaurants and activities, and full of good energy! Having our own bathroom and ability to the kitchen was a lifesaver. Peter and his dog Rocky are fun, outgoing, and welcoming. Heidy is precious and so... More

I normally stay there during my birding trips to Arenal. Location is perfect. The place is very nice, comfortable and clean, and has a home vibe to it. Heidy and Peter are amazing! Thanks I will keep on visiting! Diego

We are a family of four and spent 3 nights in La Fortuna and the Arenal region. Staying at the Sleeping Indian felt almost like home. Heidi was very gracious, helpful and provided us with plenty of valuable information. She always took the time for a chat or to give us some advice. We appreciated the easy-going atmosphere and being... More

Clean, well-attended, basic accommodations with people who truly know the heart of Costa Rica. we loved the help from the hostesses about taxis at the busiest time of year, as well as good suggestions for great inexpensive authentic Costa Rican food. We felt so at home right away in La Fortuna because our home was so central and part of... More

Peter and his guesthouse were exactly what I was looking for in La Fortuna. I had a short last minute 3 night stopover in Costa Rica on route to a work site in South America. As such, I didn't have much time to research or plan my visit. Peter helped arrange a shuttle to and from the airport, provided plenty... More

We stayed here for three nights and while the location is great and the common area is lovely I wish that more attention was paid to the details. The room was very stuffy and smelled musty unless you left the window open and fan(s) on, but when the window is open you are right above a busy street and there... More

so sorry that you had this experience I guess that you didn't figure out that the windows open - that would have taken care of the stuffiness that you talk about But what is confusing is that you booked an extra night beyond your reservation and said nothing about any issues after being in the house 2 nights! If there... More
