It's affordable and #1 TA rating doesn't hurt. It's not as upscale as some other options, but that's not what our family of five was seeking. It's plenty comfortable, clean, and relaxing after a day of adventure. What makes the place—as the other reviews indicate—is the owner. Michael is VERY helpful and will help set up any activity you want....

My wife and I stayed at hotel Bijagua for four nights during our honeymoon and we never wanted to leave. We were given a very warm reception by the owner, David, and his wife and felt immediately at home. Our rooms was a good size, had air con and a small terrace area looking onto the pool. It's not 5...

It was our first trip to Costa Rica and decision to stay at Hotel Bijagua was one of the best we made. It's only 9 rooms, but everything that we need. Our room was clean, AC worked well and WIFI was extremely fast. David not only helped us to book all our activities, but in the end became very good...

Hotel Bijigua is very pretty, room is cozy, comfortable and clean. Hotel is about 1 mile away from main town, but I think the location is perfect for us. A supermarket is right next door, several restaurants are crossing street within 100 meters. Hotel owner David is nice, warm-hearted young man. He recommended activities based in our interest and arranged...

Since I last visited Fortuna in the 80's, the town has "blossomed", the once quaint village now packed with vendors of "extreme" outdoor everything. Fortunately- Hotel Bijagua is the antidote. The hotel sits back off the street in a quiet courtyard. It is clean, quiet, and meticulously maintained. David, our host was friendly and helpful.

This family run hotel is exactly what other reviews have described - David was welcoming and truly wants to make sure that our trip goes well. The rooms were clean and impeccable. We appreciated the common kitchen so that families can meet and talk. We wish that we could have stayed longer. The hotel is between a supermarket and a...

An amazing find and an absolute must. David could not be more helpful and makes this great place truly excellent. He was so helpful, nothing was too much trouble. A few people mention the location from La Fortuna...Yes it's slightly out of town but its not a long walk and is also right next to a supermarket and some really...

Would definitely recommend a stay at hotel Bijagua. It's in a great location, about a mile from the main drag. Also convenient to hot springs and other excursions. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. Free bikes available to use. Room was clean and air conditioned
