This hostel has helpful staff, a great filling breakfast, free shuttle to the hot springs each day- which is why we booked it but something needs to be done about the downstairs dorm room that's by the kitchen/toilets. It's a tiny room that they have stuffed 12 beds in.. there's also showers and lockers inside too and hardly any space...

We stayed at La Choza for 2 nights. It was cheap and had a great location, walking distance to the main street and various restaurants and stores. The breakfast in the mornings was nice, we enjoyed the common area at night playing cards and having space to hangout after a day of adventure. Bathroom was a bit dodgy but didn't...

I stayed for three nights and slept in the biggest dorm with +10 persons. Beds are close to eachother so the dorm was total mess after a few days. There is an aircon system which makes a lot of noise but does not really cool things down, so I did not sleep very well. But: the hostel is cheap and...

You pay for what your get. The dorm room has a shower in the room but the toilet is located outside. The security there are lockers however the rooms aren't locked so anyone can walk up during the day or at night when sleeping. Staff isn't in engaging unless rebooking or buying a tour which were expensive. Great breakfast with...

Great hostel. It was clean, staff were helpful, and it is a block from the main street so it is quiet and has a great view of the volcano. Also has a free shuttle that brings you to the "free" hot springs for an hour at night if you so choose to go. I highly recommend it and would stay...

For the money you pay this hostel is excellent value. We stayed in a 6 bed dorm (room 204 did have wifi for us for the guy that said there was none in there) It is really close to the town and shops but also really quiet for those of us that like some peace and quiet. The breakfast is...

I can talk about the private rooms. I spent one night here with my friend of couch surfing and the beds were really comfortable, everything was clean and on point. The free breakfast was really good. Eggs, toasted bread, coffee, orange juice, and fruit. I recommend this hostel. Do not book your room over the phone you might find there...

The breakfest is poor, eggs, toasts and cofee ONLY. I reserved the hotel for 2 days and I extremely regret for have chosen this place. There was no TV, neither Wi-fi in the place, I asked if I could change rooms the next day for a room with Wi-fi and TV, the employees simply denied and said that it occurs...

The best part about this was the customer service. They helped us book 2 awesome tours and helped us find transportation as well. The rooms are cheap and the shower wasn't very clean, but I still greatly enjoyed the experience there. The free included breakfast was delicious.

One of our first hostel experiences, and definitely set the bar for hostels in Costa Rica. Keeping in mind that Costa Rica is generally pricier than other countries (in the perspective of backpackers!), my partner and I had a really enjoyable experience at La Choza. The beds were clean, there were lots of outlets in our dormitories (consisting of 6...
