This hotel is just a block from the main square so is very well located. It is also very pretty. The pool is surrounded by plants and flowers. We asked for and were given connecting rooms. This was a big surprise since we've seldom found any outside of the US. We had rooms 14 & 15. Our room had two double beds and the kids' room had a double and two twins. Perfect! Both rooms were pretty and had TVs. Here is where the wheels fell off. I went to remove the bedspread from one of the beds and found a big pile of crumbs, about the size of a dinner plate. And dark hair. I went to Reception and when I said my bed was not clean, the lady asked "did you ask for a clean room?" I said we had just checked in a few hours ago. She still asked if I asked in advance. I told her that a clean room was the norm and that it was expected that we would have clean rooms. She never waivered and said in CR that we had to ask. Finally she said she would try to find some clean sheets, which she did. We were flabergasted that they would make the bed up with crumbs/hair but they would put towel art on it. Breakfast was included in our rate. We had to make a reservation for it and there was no menu. The breakfast lady told us what was available but only when we asked. We decided to get breakfast elsewhere.…
The hotel is a well run family hotel with very helpful staff. The room was a bit dated with an old style TV but clean and comfortable. Next doors AC unit was a bit noisy. The staff were very flexible and offered extra help with tours and contacts. The hotel is just over 5 minutes walk to the centre of La Fortuna where there were plenty of places to eat.
We so enjoyed our three night stay. Everything was perfect: the room was big and spotless clean, nice hot water shower, and AC. Beautiful swimming pool, delicious breakfast served upstairs, strong Wi-Fi, excellent location nearby to Laugh or to the park and dozens of restaurants. Our favorite part was the delightful and helpful staff. Thank you all we hope to visit again in the future.
I stay here with my friend in our one week road trip around CR, we book this hotel last minute, security guard was friendly and helpful. After arriving we where able to walk to town for dinner and drinks (just a few blocks from main plaza). Room with 2 twin beds, is a little bit small, and a box type design, but at lease clean, good water pressure and hot water, and parking lot on the back patio. Breakfast, no idea what was all about, walk to kitchen and not to helpful staff, it was 9am and coffee already stored at the back room, not happy with that part, but there is an small swimming pool and good location in town to spend a night or two.
We stayed here for 3 nights in August. The hotel is in a great location, a few minutes walk into the town for shops, restaurants and tours. The hotel room was clean and spacious with good air con. Breakfast was a Buffett and was very nice. The pool area was lovely, we were able to spot iguanas and others lizards and birds from the sun loungers. The one down fall was that a big tour group was staying the same time as us who were very loud and disrespectful in the pool area although the hotel had put up rules which states the pool is for relaxing, it seems they regularly have big tour groups staying. There is also a restaurant right next to the hotel, although we did not eat there we had drinks there several nights before we went to bed which was convenient.
