My husband and I have stayed here many times over the past two years. We have enjoyed getting to know the Tico family that operates the Hotel. They are friendly, fun, helpful and provide a small intimate hotel setting in a restored old Tico home within walking distance of restaurants, stores, and parks. The hotel is also very close to...

We arrived as per our reservations, at 4 pm. We parked our car and were shown our room. The room was so small that it almost wouldn't fit our suitcases. There was no way for 2 people to walk beside the bed. There was one small fan and one small window opening to a very noisy street. We went out...

As a woman needing place to stay on last day in c rica, this place worked out great for me. The owners were so helpful in giving me info on how to take taxi and bus to a bird zoo I wanted to visit . The breakfast area was charming, bed was comfortable, and private bathroom very clean. The restaurants...

I hate to do negative reviews which is why this review is in the average category. I just don't see what others seemed to in this place. The owners were fine, but not that friendly, and it is not in a very desirable location, except that it is close to the airport. The room was teeny and just fit the...

Per the email exchange below, we were expecting to pay $45 for four people. A few minutes after checking in, we received a phone call from the hotel manager that the rate is higher ($55) as he did not realize our kids were teenage. I told him that I had clearly written "teenage kids" in my email - but he...

Great family run bed and breakfast, very comfortable and clean. Stayed here for about two weeks while visiting. Private bathroom and cable tv. Just a short walk or cab ride for food and drink. Friendliest host and hostess I have ever met. Thanks for making it a memorable stay. Pura Vida!

I spent three weeks at the Hotel Green Day Inn, while I was doing doctoral research at a nearby university. If you are looking for a clean and relaxing hotel for just a night or for an extended period of time, this is the place. It is centrally located and has a wonderful patio with lots of light, a fountain...

We were happy to have found this charming place. Exuberant Rosanna and her husband Randall made us feel at home immediately. The clean rooms (you can choose a private bath or shared) border an attractive covered patio, framed in brightly colored plants. We enjoyed relaxing breakfasts, watching the many beautiful birds which Randall has rescued. You can also take advantage...

If you would like to stay near the airport, consider the Hotel Green Day (Hotel Dia Verde) in Alajuela. About five minutes from the airport, this small family-run hotel is inexpensive, very pleasant, and easily accessible by bus (the San Jose-Alajuela bus from the stop directly in front of the airport) for less than a dollar or taxi for about...
