I wish I'd found this place on my way rather than on my way home. I only spent one night, since i had an early flight to catch, but the staff were super friendly and helpful, the room and bathrooms were very clean and comfortable and there's a well-equipped kitchen for those who want to use it. It was so...

We go a private room at the Maleku Hostel and were more than satisfied with it. The room was simple, but more than enough for what we needed. The only thing we didn't like about the room was that the window was right next to the road, so the traffic was loud all night long. The hostel does offer free...

We wanted a place to stay for one night on our way out of Costa Rica to Panama. The workers were excellent and helped us with a taxi driver who tried over charging us. Rooms were comfy and clean and there's a grocery store very close by and a bakery/corner store across the street.

When I got in really late from the airport, all I wanted was a quick drive to a hostel. This hostel was 5 minutes away, which was really nice. I got a single room, which had a comfortable bunk bed and a fan. Breakfast was really simple, just cookies and juice/coffee. Great hostel for a one night, in-and-out stay. Staff...

Maleku is the place to stay if you want to rest before your flight the next day. It all looks very new and it is kept very clean. Free coffee and tea are provided as well as a little breakfast and free shuttle to the airport from 5am to 5 pm. The staff is really nice and helpful, recommended.

They are very clean. Thats pretty much the only good thing about it. We stayed here only for one night, on our way out of Costa Rica, and I guess after such a beautiful connection with nature, people who care about nature, this place felt more like a jail cell. The energy in this place sucks. It's ugly looking, and...

This is the perfect hostel for those looking for a low-key quiet experience. It felt like someone's home or a bed and breakfast. I can't imagine making a ton of random friends here but it was perfect for the end of my trip. Within walking distance (15 mins) of La Radial bus station and bus station from San Jose. Free...

This hostel is very conveniently located near Alajuela bus station and a short ride from the airport to which they provide a free shuttle. It has very basic facilities and no air con so don't be surprised. I would recommend this for a stopover due to its prime location for a night but don't expect any luxuries, you get what...

Stayed in 6 bed dorm. Not a party hostel. Nice and clean. Few guests. So we had the small kitchen more or less for ourselves. Can probably get a little packed if more people stay there. Anyway, nice bananas, tea, coffee, cookies for breakfast. Staff nice and helpful. Better option to stay here than in San Jose for us. Consequently...
