We took a redeye from Los Angeles and Xandari not only sent a driver to retrieve us from the airport, but they fed us breakfast on arrival while they readied our room and allowed us to check in well before 10 AM! We actually stayed here for two nights on our way into San Jose and on our way out...

While planning our family trip to Costa Rica, I read one comment that resonated with me. The writer posed the question: do you want your Costa Rican experience to begin after you spend a "restful" night at a motel or hotel near the airport in San Jose, have breakfast, and then finally get out into the country -- or do...

We just stayed for one night after arriving in Costa Rica. The staff were lovely, the room huge (we are a family of 4 and there was tonnes of space), the gardens were gorgeous, food yummy and pools great (esp Sunset pool.)

My family and I spent 1 day (lunch and dinner) at this resort. The food was outstanding (at a reasonable price). The villa (plus) had a beautiful view of San Jose, along with very comfortable beds, and the hospitality was exceptional. We would definitely stay at this resort again.

My wife and I enjoyed two great nights in this wonderful hotel. The grounds are really beautiful and very well maintained. There are extensive walking trails within the grounds and several waterfalls can be visited. Our room was very large and comfortable and the quality of everything was excellent. The breakfast was very good but the restaurant really comes into...

we booked 2 nights at the start of our trip to get rid of jet lag. The room was large and spacious with a deck area overlooking the central valley. Aircraft noise was minmimal. Good welcome at reception on arrival and efficient on leaving. Excellent food and a couple of local dishes as well which were great. Even some local...

We booked one night here to provide our hosts a respite from us. What a place. Luci (in reservations) was so very helpful in finding us the right room with the right view. (Thank you, Luci). The restaurant was situated with views across the central valley. And at night the whole valley seems to be afire with lights. Breathtaking. And...

We stayed two nights at Xandari after eleven days in the rainforest on the Osa peninsula. This is a lovely hotel and a quiet alternative to the city. The accommodation was to a high standard and the food very good. We used the private spa jacuzzis several times which were fabulous. The gardens are beautiful with trails down to the...

My husband and I spent two nights here during our honeymoon. One on our arrival to Costa Rica, and one at the end. This hotel is beautiful, and for being so close to San Jose and the airport feels very tranquil. Our villa was huge, and we loved our private balcony. The grounds are lush and beautiful, and I loved...

Nicest possible staff, immaculate comfortable rooms thoughtfully laid out, gorgeous views. Pools are exquisite (swimming in the Sunset pool with the view is an amazing experience). Restaurant is excellent, with consistently good food and absolutely loving service. My husband and I would consider returning to Costa Rica just to stay here, as the ambiance of total relaxation in this natural...
