We felt really safe and welcome here. Rooms are perfectly clean and spacious with TV and wifi, bath has hot water and hotel is peaceful...

We arrived at SJO around 10pm and took a cab to Casa Tago. I printed out the map from Casa Tago's website and gave it to the driver. It was a quick cab ride, but please note - do not try to negotiate a fare before you get in the cab!! My friend and I were worried about being overcharged...

Casa Tago is a small B&B located in Alajuela town, 2 blocks away from Central Park. It takes about 3 minutes (~$6 US) if you take the orange taxi from the airport. Just remember to look for tomato orange, not tangerine orange. Our Room #8 was large and extremely clean. It had 1 double bed and 1 single bed, a...

My wife and I stayed here only one night, but left impressed. Very clean, simple and well-maintained. Staff had excellent recommendations for dinner within walking distance from the hotel and called a cab at 4AM for our flight. After seeing Alajuela, I wished we stayed longer; the town seems lively, interesting and safe. We will definitely stay here again when...

My family stayed here the first and last nights of our two week trip in Costa Rica. It was a nice place to stay before and after long travel days. The breakfast was great. The staff was very friendly and provided assistance with restaurants and taxis when requested. The rooms were clean and there was plenty of hot water.

We stayed for 3 days at end of April at this clean, convenient, reasonably-priced, downtown Alajuela Hotel after a 10 day tour; had a chance to unwind, and see more of the real Costa Rica than can see on a tour. Constanza was very helpful with suggestions for local restaurants, and bus connections to Doka Coffee Estate and Zoo-Aviary. Their...
