The hostel people were quick to respond to my email asking about how to get there from the airport. It was just as they said $5 no matter how many people in the group. And they did have 24-hour reception. That was nice.
I really don't get the negative reviews, to be honest. No one is trying to stay multiple nights in Alajuela so it's not super important that this be some fancy, community-living hostel. I've stayed here three separate times and every time the staff is friendly...More
Stayed here for three nights as part of my Costa Rica travels. Would not describe it at all as a boutique hostel, just average. It has everything you need, rooms and bathrooms clean and in the centre of Alajuela. Showers very good. For a one...More
Lots of pros and cons. I'll start with the later. Multiple bed firms are very tight for luggage space. I would recommend 4 bed dorm which includes a bathroom. There are lock boxes that just fit documents and wallets. Bathrooms do not have soap. A.C....More
I don't know why people are writing such bad reviews, I stayed here 1 night and I thought it was quite good. Rooms are very clean with lots of space, friendly staff and restaurant at the top! I would stay here again :-)
