Lest say, at first, that its locations is great. Just over JingAn subway station on Line 2, right at the center of Nanjing Road, a short walk from one of the Shanghai best shopping area and lots of restaurant. The right place to move around...More
Let's just get that out of the way first. Most hotels in Shanghai just don't have a fourth floor labeled. This one does and the elevator also stops there...but it's boarded up. Weird.

The heart of this neighborhood is the Jing'an Temple, while the main artery of excitement and entertainment is West Nanjing Road. Close to the Former French Concession, the area has a similar draw for foreign residents but displays a more commercial character. Large, flashy malls, luxe residential high-rises and trendy nightlife areas can be found along West Nanjing Road, but areas off the busy street have the same
quiet cafes and independent boutiques that many people think of as distinctive of the Former French Concession. Jing'an is less encased in amber, though, and it's possible to immerse yourself more fully in the energy of China's most bustling metropolis here.
