The Longemont is a very comfortable hotel and I stayed in the top floors with access to a private lounge. For business, this was a fabulous facility and a quiet place to meet and relax. Rooms were fine and only negative on this trip was reception staff stressed and too busy - not enough staff.

The hotel is good with comfortable rooms. However, the room size was only average. Food ordered for in room dining was good in terms of taste and portion. English speaking staff is required and can make communication much simpler

You get in, collect the key, go sleep in the room, have a dull breakfast in the morning which hasn't changed much in the last few years I have been coming and then check out. Basically the hotel lacks character or persona. Nothing which will draw you to the place again!

Room is very cosy and comfortable, with no smell unlike some other hotels. Toilet is clean and the shower area has a strong rain shower. Temperature in the room is set to an optimal warmth and is a nice room to go back to in a chilly Shanghai winter. 24hr convenience shop is just located outside the main entrance and...

Beds are supple and not saggy. Carpet inside of the room is amazing to walk on -- so soft! Bathroom is amazing. Breakfast buffet is great with all kinds of selections from western to local Shanghai flavors. Front desks are accommodating. We forgot something in the fridge when checking out and the service person carried it out to the lobby...

This place is dreadful. We booked a double room and were given a twin. Totally unacceptable. Why questioned they said we could pay an extra 400 dollars to upgrade to a room with a double room. Despite the website claiming that English wad spoken by the staff I saw no evidence of this. My wife is Chinese and when we...

Okay back again out of convenience and lack of planning from my side. Stayed 4 nights, the girl at reception tried to book me into a smoking room, I had to hall myself all the way down and demand a non smoking room, she wanted to freshen up the smoking room, can you believe that. The hotel now allows smoking...

I had a very nice room, quiet, welll-equipped and with a fantastic view. Breakfast is ok but not more, the bar is in the lounge with a staff that can't mix and every night the same loud pop-awards-video full blast on a large screen. Still - a nice hotel.

The Longemont Shanghai was my favorite of the four hotels at which I stayed during my trip. It was very clean and rather luxurious. Wonderful city view from my 36th floor room. Good breakfast buffet, very courteous, professional staff. Only negative was the very limited complimentary bottled water (two 330 ml bottles per day).

Staying in Zhongshan Park

Neighbourhood Profile
Zhongshan Park
The residential and commercial areas around the beautiful grounds of Zhongshan Park have never been considered particularly fashionable by a majority of Shanghai’s foreign residents, but plenty of expats do choose to live here. The park itself is a huge draw, providing a pocket of serenity in the middle of the metropolis. The area has its share of trendy shops with wares that can’t be found elsewhere, delicious restaurants with food ranging from fancy to affordable, and great hidden bars. Rents are also cheaper here than in other neighborhoods with the same conveniences. Aside from the obvious attractions, with its neighborhood fix-anything shops and pop-up street stalls that sell anything you need, you’ll never sacrifice Western comforts.
