I stayed at this hotel for 30 days .. I agree with everyone else exception of 1 staff member they were not very friendly .. Location was great but there were so many other problems that this hotel will be my secondary option in the future .. I was in room 1212 .. there are several problems with this room...

I booked 2 nights and have to spend a lot of time dealing with the room electrical conditions. I checked in around noon, and had a meeting two hour later. I took a shower and then realized the hairdryer didn't work; I wanted to have a cup of tea and realized that the pot is not working either. After the...

I booked this hotel via Agoda and stayed one day. Although breakfast was not included without mention, and they would not let me check in early, the stay was fine. Upon checking out next morning at 0700 am however, I took one of the taxidrivers who were sitting inside the hotel lobby with the hotel staff, assuming that the hotel...

The location of this hotel made shopping and hitting the sights easy and within walking distance, however, the front desk attendants were not very friendly and anytime I asked them a question (which was only three times) they acted as if I had asked them to give me their first born child. It was very annoying and frustrating as the...

The hotel is a great location – close to the Bund area. The staff was very friendly and hospitable. Breakfast was included with the room and was a large buffet with an omelet bar. Our room was very clean and modern. The bathroom was quite large with a separate shower and bathtub. We had free wi-fi at the hotel. I...

I used The Bund Hotel as a springboard to see friends in Shanghai and Hangzhou. Do not confuse this hotel with others having "Bund" in their names. The Bund area along the river is a carryover from the days when Europeans dominated Shanghai. You can see this in the architecture along the HuangPu River. Their address: No. 525 Guangdong Road,...

This is definitely not to be compared to international chains but the hotel is clean, efficient, and staff is very helpful. Just not used to having people smoke all around you and having 3 dedicated non smoking floors where people still smoke in the hallways... Location, quite convenient to walk 5 mins to the shopping street. If you are a...

The room is acceptable and the bathroom is nice. However the bed is so hard, I got some back pain. What really annoyed me is the cashier from the Chinese restaurant on the 2nd floor, I think. It was my last night so I have only dollars with me and a credit card. All the places we went accepted credit...

The counter/bell/concierge service is decent, presumably due to the business clientele the hotel may be targeting. Airport transfers are somewhat expensive - avoid if you have the time to book or take public transportation. The single rooms are standard furnished but very small. The twin/double rooms are a reasonable size. In-room, wired internet access is available but chargeable. Breakfast is...

Staying in People’s Square

Neighbourhood Profile
People’s Square
People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.
