Excellent location and service (except for cleaning) at this hotel. Room designs/execution are not the best though: carpet on the floor looks dirty, blinds and curtains only completely open or close - no half way option. In fact,. A little suspect of the cleaning - throughout my entire stay there was someone's old dry contact lens on the floor. I was curious if it will get cleaned up during my 4 night stay, but it never did. Other than that, good experience. I wish the sauna worked in the health centre.
The service at this hotel was exceptional. We were greeted warmly by the receptionist and had our IHG status acknowledged with an upgrade and a happy hour. Throughout our 5 day stay we were greeted politely by the door staff. The Happy Hour had a good selection of drink and food with efficient staff. The hotel itself is stylish and very relaxing. The pictures show the quality of the furnishings. Considering its location it is very peaceful. The pool and spa area is amazing with message chairs, a mood shower etc. The location is fantastic next to a metro stop but also opposite some great restaurants and cafes. It is a beautiful area to walk around. I highly recommend this hotel-it offers all that is expected by a 5 star hotel and goes beyond. You can both be in the centre of action but also have some peace from it.…
Great hotel in Shanghai. Quiet with nice architecture and amazing courtyard. Breakfast served on top floor with nice view of the city. Not the ideal location, but also not too far from main attractions. A few good restaurants on the other side of the road. Worth to mention that it comes at certain price.
We arrived late in the hotel, front desk free upgrade us to a nice room, the staff are very accommodating and trained in good manner. The rooms have all the most modern luxury features and are perfectly maintained. Great location for the city visit, Metro is right next to the hotel, a food complex is nearby as well. We enjoyed our stay and wish to return one day.
It is the first time I check-in this hotel. My overall impression of this hotel is quite neutral, because the location is not really convenient and the hotel looks quite old. My room is quite acceptable considering I book this hotel by using VISA Infinite Card to enjoy free 2nd night, except the tax. The hotel does nolt have a Club Lounge, so not much privacy for breakfast and evening cocktails. The saunna and steam area is very spacious with very few users and that I consider it is a ideal place for relaxation.
It is a well designed hotel with a lot of classic decorations of traditional Chinese culture. The room is spacious and equipments are well maintained. We stayed there for a weekend, not many people in hotel so overall it was quiet and private place. The food is great and the services are excellent. Located in the center of the city, next to the door there is a metro station so location wise it is quite convenient. The lounge is not that comfortable give its open area on the ground floor. It would have been better if like some other Marriott hotels that the lounge is kept in a dedicated area with privacy being well considered. Another part that, outside of breakfast area there is an open terrace space where you may enjoy the sunshine and fresh air however it was not open for use which is a shame. But overall this is a nice hotel, according to the hotel, it was rated by dianping.com as the best dating hotel in town, indeed it is a nice place for couple. …
In just a year this property has gone from one of my favorites to one of the worst. No recognition for being a titanium elite, room in rough shape, absolutely pathetic breakfast, the list goes on. Will not be back.
I’ll start by saying I’m a Bonvoy Ambassador member and have been so for 5 straight years. This used to be my favorite SPG property in Shanghai, but at $300+ rates and what I’ll share below, not sure I’ll be back anytime soon. Sadly the standards at Twelve at Hengshan have cratered. - room cleaning standards are poor. I found a cockroach in the room. Carpets are stained. The toilet seat seams are dirty. The room smells like smoke - Room is poorly maintained. Wireless phone doesn’t work, toilet cleaning function barely sprays water, shower provides a weak stream of water, bose audio system is outdated and impossible to get to work. - Service at restaurants is awful. My table wasn’t cleaned up, no one set it up for 10 minutes and I did it myself. Waited 15 minutes for a cappuccino. Items on buffet sit empty for a while. - Breakfast is poor: the quality of the breakfast foods went down precipitously. Poor assortments... no cheeses, salmon, cured meats. No chopped fruits and the variety is limited. Very limited choices on the buffet and some of the items looks like food from a China Eastern lounge (nasty and greasy). - Pool standards are low: the water was murky, all facilities were off (ie. No whirpool) - Health club also poorly run: at 7:15 am steam room, sauna and everything was non-operational I could keep going on more smaller things. But just avoid this place if you are expecting the high quality standards that other asian hotels provide.…
Beautifully appointed, very high levels of service. The perfect place to refresh in the middle of the city. Large rooms with elegant muted decor. Sophisticated cuisine. Problems with the internet were addressed in minutes. Room service arrived ahead of what had been promised. Well trained staff.
Hotel by itself is ok and even if furniture are a bit outdated, I do not have complain about I would like anyway to complain about the attitude about the hotel staff (duty manger and its superior) concerning the checkout procedure. It took them more than one hour to justify the contents of the bill !! They had an attitude extremely condescending and suggesting I should pay without requiring details (which were not able to provide me) It was often said that I should trust them and not necessary to ask what I have to pay Not unable to clarify what was corresponding for amount, making mistake in the dates was the main reproach… and it took 1 hour for them to understand what they were asking me to pay !!!!! Finally, they never sorry (or I had to push them to say sorry but they did not even believe in it). Close to me, I had at least 2 colleagues which were also questioning their own bill With such attitude, next time I would suggest to think twice before advising to send someone in this hotel. …
