Hotel is impressive, as usual at the Ritz they attend to every need. The rooms are average size for Shanghai. Great toiletries from London! They leave 4 waters in your room every night which is essential in a country where you can't drink the water. A Starbucks next door tops it all off.

This hotel personifies the Ritz brand and for the three nights I stayed i felt like a princess. The room was fantastic with a huge bath allowing me to have water up to my nack and my legs fully stretched out, a comfortable bed by Asian standards and amazing attention to detail with every aspect of breakfast, service jn the...

Very High quality Hotel. Elegant and well designed. The location is central to all the major night life. I stayed 3 nights and received excellent service. You can't do better. I will share this one story. The cuff on my pants didn't hold up well on the trip. So, I was casually inquiring about a local seamstress at the concierge...

Second time in 6 months. Nicely appointed rooms, bathrooms. Wonderful service. Very friendly and helpful club level. Convenient location. Haven't tried any of the downstairs lounges, restaurants, bars though.

Very high standard hotel. Good sized rooms, gym, nice common areas. Feels like a typical Ritz Carlton, understated elegance and good mood. The business centre is well equipped - horribly expensive - but what 5 star hotel isnt?

I returned to this property after several years of staying elsehwere and on this trip after staying at the HKG and Guanzhou properties. I realized quickly that the hotel has become a bit dated compared to newer properties in China. The airport welcome was positive, as was the club arrival experience. Carmen was very helpful and made sure that all...

We stayed here in September 2012 for 3 nights as part of a tour group. The room was a good size, staff were very good and attentive, and wi-fi was free in the lobby. For such a large hotel it still feels relaxed, as they have so many staff. We had breakfast at the hotel and it was excellent. The...

Very large complex Ritz treatment from hotel staff well appointed rooms clean and bright They have a great band in the lounge, soft romantic music Understaffed and inexperienced employees at the restaurant Hard to get service, poorly managed the complete opposite of the Ritz Beijing where they are all over you with attention and service

Interesting Ritz Carton, clearly older than other Shanghai properties but high quality nonetheless. Rooms are fine, perhaps not quite 5* Deluxe though. Club level is nice and up to par with worldwide club lounges I have stayed in. The service throughout is decent, although language issues for Western travellers seems to create some issues, as is common in many hotels...

Staying in Jing'an

Neighbourhood Profile
The heart of this neighborhood is the Jing'an Temple, while the main artery of excitement and entertainment is West Nanjing Road. Close to the Former French Concession, the area has a similar draw for foreign residents but displays a more commercial character. Large, flashy malls, luxe residential high-rises and trendy nightlife areas can be found along West Nanjing Road, but areas off the busy street have the same quiet cafes and independent boutiques that many people think of as distinctive of the Former French Concession. Jing'an is less encased in amber, though, and it's possible to immerse yourself more fully in the energy of China's most bustling metropolis here.
