The hotel is located in quite a central location in Shanghai next to the People Square Park. The People Square park has a main MTR station which can take you many places in a convenient and economically way. Especially, the traffic in Shanghai could be very bad and not just mention about the difficulty to get a taxi because most...

This is a very nice hotel located near many activities and attractions. Shanghai is huge so I suggest finding a good hotel central to your interests. Restaurants & lounges within the hotel are very good and you can find western fare if you need a break from the sometimes exotic asian menus.

The J. W. MARRIOTT was well situated for my business appointment. It is quite near the Green Line metro from either airport and the high speed train. The room was large and the bed very comfortable. I did not eat in the hotel but the morning tea was appreciated and newspapers were provided. Extraordinary view of the new financial center.

Staying in People’s Square

Neighbourhood Profile
People’s Square
People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.
