The room was lovely & very clean & quiet, and the hotel was in a great location. The hotel also had two restaurants and a lobby bar with good food. I was even able to find vegetarian food in two of the restaurants. The was definitely not up to Marriott standards, though this may have been a cultural thing. I'd...

I stayed at the Marriott City Centre for a second time this past December and while it says it is Shanghai's City Centre, the location is not the best for if you are visiting Shanghai as tourist for the first time and really makes most sense if you have meetings or offices nearby, It is convenient to the metro but...

My first trip to Shanghai and i was not let down. The Shanghai Marriott Hotel City Centre had all the amenities a business traveler would need and more - central location, wonderful room, comfortable beds, Executive lounge with large variety of food. But the most important aspect is the outstanding service. I will be booking again here in three months.

Staying in People’s Square

Neighbourhood Profile
People’s Square
People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.
