I stayed here for three nights at the end of March on the Executive floor. The room was clean, spacious, and had every amenity I needed. It was very quiet and comfortable. Staying on the Executive floor I had access to the executive lounge, but I actually never used it. The lounge offered a continental breakfast, drinks, and appetizers depending...

The executive lounge team were fantastic and really got to know me during my stay. Stephen was especially friendly and provided excellent service - always attentive and asking if we needed refills on drinks or anything else. The food quality at the lounge was not the best. It seemed to be prepared for the masses. We ordered from the room...

Rooms seemed to be recently decorated with crisp clean duvets, electric window coverings, LED lighting, corner full glass shower and more. Nice window view of city center and conveniently located. Downstairs buffet or order from menu, international offerings with a wide variety of food.

I travel to Shanghai a lot. Usually I stay at the JW Marriott at Tomorrow Square but the rates this time were outrageous so we opted for their sister property less than a mile away. Notable differences: the breakfast at JW is better than at City Centre (CC). The hot food items just taste better. I always drink puer tea,...

This is an excellent hotel. I normally write reviews on TripAdvisor for my family vacations but I can honestly say that this hotel has to be top 3 that I have stayed in for family + business trips. The first thing i have to say is communication is excellent. I asked a question here on Tripadvisor and the GM answered...

Preceding five great nights at the Shanghai Marriott Hotel City Centre, I was at the JW Marriott in Hong Kong for two nights. This is a great hotel, right in the heart of the City. Try and get a room on one of the higher levels as the views are great, super bar within the hotel and a good choice of Restaurants. However try walking and find a local restaurant as the local places are great and very good value

Staying in People’s Square

Neighbourhood Profile
People’s Square
People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.
