I've stayed at Ibis hotels in Munich and Seoul, and really enjoyed the experience. But this branch is just gross. It basically looks like a sloppily refurbished love hotel. Sound-proofing is non-existent. You can hear everything in the next rooms and in the hallway, and the housekeeping staff is really loud. The bed isn't comfortable -- the pillows are tiny...

While the room was okay, an incident at this hotel has left such a bad impression of Ibis with me and my friends that we most will never stay at any of their hotels again. During our stay, a small kitten became trapped in the ceiling near the elevator. During the three days its cries could be heard, not one...

It's located at a very good place of Shanghai, the night was quiet. However, the bed didn't sleep comfortably enough. It's still a good hotel anyway, I will live here again if I travel Shanghai alone.

Good value, great room and located next to the old campus of Jiao Tong University. Can't think of better value for money in Shanghai. Staff spoke English very well. It is a short walk to bus 26 which goes through the middle of French Concession to the central city. With the bus, it makes the location great and not so...

the dirtiest, filthiest..... hotel IBIS ever Literally, no one clean the laminated floor, human hair is everywhere, not speaking those already rolled up and become a human hair ball sitting in the cornners. Didn't see white towels, only "grey" towels provided Suggest Accorhotel check on the property not to let the Accor name down.

Located within the residential area of the old French concession part of Shanghai-yet just steps away from Weihui road (joffre blvd). Easy access to convenience stores, drug stores, local cheap eateries and public transportation. There are six IBIS hotels in Shanghai to choose from

We stayed here when we went to the Shanghai expo. The rooms are extremely new and clean, it seemed as we were the first ones in the room. We stayed in the family room which is bigger than the normal room. The room was very simple with nothing much. No cupboard or safe. Just a tv and table. All amenities...

Staying in Gubei / Hongqiao / Minhang

Neighbourhood Profile
Gubei / Hongqiao / Minhang
West of Shanghai’s better-known business, cultural and entertainment centers, lies an expansive area of residential neighborhoods peppered with lifestyle pockets that have their own unique attractions. The schools have formed pockets of international communities throughout Gubei, Hongqiao and Minhang. Quite a few entertainment and shopping centers have built up over the years to cater to these communities. While living here means you are relatively far away from Shanghai’s usual hot spots, the large parks, spacious homes and proximity to great Japanese and Korean food keep the neighborhoods popular.

“Avoid the single room (the cheapest type). They are extremely worn down and the shower area has lots of mold.”

“I went for a room with a window, but wouldn't recommend it. There is absolutely nothing to see, and they don't have those sheer curtains which let in light but allow privacy during the day. You end up keeping it closed so people in nearby buildings can't look in.”
