This is the worst experience of JW Marriott to me. Although the view is good, the service was terrible. The lounge was noisy with always looks very busy staff. The dining room was crowded. The room was not cleaned well and the housekeeping missed some important details such as layout of cups and bath supplies. The room smells moldy. After 7 days staying in JW Marriott Macau, travelling to this Marriott was like falling from heaven to the hell! As a platinum member to stay for 3 nights, when I checked in at midnight after a horrible long way travel, I was told that I can be upgraded to a executive suite the next day. So the front desk NICELY told me to not unpack my luggage too much. Just take out necessary stuff and they will help me to move to the executive suite in the morning. But when I came back the next night, I found my room was just moved to a little higher floor with exactly same size, same view but a worse layout. Even worse was that the room was not cleaned well like it was done in a rush. The staff just said there was misunderstanding!? Yes, I misunderstood. This is not JW Marriott.

My wife and I decided to cross the river to Pudong to stay at JW Marquis over New Year's Eve. To make a long story short, we really enjoyed the service, the waterfront view and the facilities. We even extended the stay to two nights (even though we only live 20 minutes away). FYI _ There is a 22KM waterfront bike trail right outside JW. We did about 3 KM in 2 degree C weather before turning back. Still planning to take my wife back when it's warmer. Special thanks to Josie - I had an event at JW last week and left my business cards at the dinner banquet. Shortly after I contactr the hotel front desk, I got a call back from Josie and she arranged to have the item mailed to me.

Tried JW Marriott Marquis for a staycation the last long weekend. Mostly positive experience except for check in. Check in was a nightmare due to the crowds. Arrived around 2:30, a bit before the official check in time. Even at the club lounge, I had to wait for 10m in a queue. Very rarely happened to me... Chinese tourists are back in force post COVID19. Didn’t even attempt to get a table for afternoon tea or evening canapés. For that size of a hotel, the club lounge is quite small and limited. The room was very decent and appreciated the upgrade to the studio with the harbor view. Even though the hotel opened for two years, all furnitures are still very new and fresh. The bed was very comfortable and enjoyed the big circle tub in the bathroom. Service was efficient. Forgot my iPhone charger and they loaned me one over the stay. Room service was on time and all orders were correct and hot. Housekeeping also decent but nothing too personalized or write home about. Bumped into the robot staff a few times. That was an interesting experience. Tried the breakfast buffet at the lounge and arrived at 8:20am to avoid the crowd. But it was meh... the food was decent but not worth waking up that early. Also reserved dinner at the Flint steakhouse. Ribeye cooked to perfection and loved the platinum 30% discount! On the last day, I skipped morning breakfast buffet and went for the lunch buffet at the restaurant instead. Not bad for the price paid. Really enjoyed the freshly squeezed orange juice, shanghai style ribs, and various cold appetizers. Check out was better, no queuing needed as I requested for 4pm late check out. Already booked and planned to return during the May Labor Day long weekend. Need more stays to secure another year of platinum status with Bonvoy!

We did a staycation here and were super impressed with the hotel and the facilities. The room was modern and comfortable. Service was amazing. The pool are and pool was also great. Only downside, the breakfast looked amazing, but not up to scratch when eating it. Well worth a visit

We stayed two nights in jw Marriott Marquis, upon check in there were some unpleasant story happened due to misunderstand, whereas we spoke to Doris, Philip and Miranda about those problems, they provide us reasonable solutions and amazing service, Ms. Miranda offer us a discount for our fantastic dinner at Flint, after dinner we had pleasant chat with Philip at lobby (btw apologize to disturb your work). Hotel management should be proud that have those lovely staffs. Besides location and view was extremely great, we can enjoy a nice landscape from this famous river and also we could see a nice view for Shanghai CBD from corridor. Lovely stay and lovely staffs. See you later!
