The room was very nice and big. Other than that, everything was just average. Breakfast was rather 4* hotel. Overall, I did not feel I am staying at an international five star hotel chain. Jumeirah in UAE is considered as top of the line chain but this hotel felt just like a 4* and not a five star. Cleaning room...

Stayed here for a week attending the Tire Exposition. Fantastic location and close to shopping as well as the subway. Was fortunate to get upgraded to executive level with access to the lounge on 21. The lounge and people exceeded my expectations and I have traveled all over the globe for the last 20+ years. The food was excellent all...

This hotel is a 5 star hotel. I stayed 1 night but it is closed to expo center. The staff speak English and service is excellent. The hotel has free WiFi and satellite TV. The breakfast has a huge selection of Western and Chinese food. It's about 30 mins cab ride from Pudong Airport. This is one of the best...

This is a great hotel, staff is super friendly and professional and the concierge was an absolute champ!!! The breakfast selection is some of the biggest I've seen around the world. My room was always clean with a turn down service at night. The gym is massive, they have most of the equipment you could ask for and runs 24...

We spend two nights there and I have to say the stay is great. The room is huge, about 48 sg m and the service reception is professional. The only flaw about the hotel is its location, It is next to SNIEC but far away from the major activity hubs in Shanghai

I was here during the food & hotel fair in Shanghai. It is very convenient if you have to attend a fair at SNIEC. Just cross the street and you are at the venue. Rooms are super. Clean, big, modern,... Just perfect. The lobby is amazing. An attraction on itself. The staff is great and very helpful. We had a...

Staying in Century Park

Neighbourhood Profile
Century Park
Shanghai residents see Pudong’s suburbs as the place that grown-ups retreat to when they’re ready to settle down and stop living in the cramped confines of a refurbished lanehouse. The areas around Century Park are some of the most desirable as they are in close proximity to the Metro Lines, granting easy access to the heart of Puxi. The park itself is a huge draw, it’s one of Shanghai’s biggest and there are sports fields tucked into one of its corners, but five-star hotels, museums and great malls make life in the Century Park area easy for the homesick foreigner. And if living in a Western bubble in China isn’t your thing, there is plenty of local flavor to be had in between the major development. Some of Lujiazui’s futurism can also be seen in buildings and sculptures throughout the neighborhood as well.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel Shanghai is perfectly placed for business and leisure. Located in the heart of Pudong, the hotel is directly opposite the Shanghai New International Expo Centre and close to the green expanse of Century Park. Metro line 7 is accessed directly from the basement of the Himalayas Centre, allowing easy citywide connections. The Maglev train station is just a short walk away for speedy seven-minute transfers to/from Pudong International Airport. Construction of the Himalayas Centre started in 2006 under the direction of world-renowned architect Arata Isozaki, who also created the Barcelona Olympic Stadium and Los Angeles MoMA. Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel opened in March 2011. Inspired by Chinese cultural elements and traditional feng shui principles, architect Arata Isozaki designed the landmark Himalayas Center, where Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel is located. A three-dimensional Urban Forest comprising dramatically sculpted columns defines the central section of the Himalayas Centre. It also carries an important loading capacity function and provides an arresting entrance to the Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel. Tien Shu Patterned Walls Wrapped around the base of the two towers presents a conceptual interpretation of ancient Chinese characters from the Tien Shu by Cang Jie. Special windows have also been custom made to subtly insert between the characters allowing light to flood the hotel interiors. The Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel tower is constructed in the form of the Yu Cong, an ancient Chinese ritual object formed from an outer square representing earth, and inner circle representing heaven. The cylindrical atrium stretches 14 levels through the centre of the tower. ... more   less
