The hostel is weel located in Shanghai, close to people park and subway. The personal is very nice with a good english. The room are OK, wifi is working. Around the hostel you have a lot of restaurants and shop. Good place not to spend to much money for a room.

I stayed in the 8 bed mixed dorm, cant complain at all. Very clean, fresh bedding on arrival, ensuite toilet and shower which were both good. It was super cheap too, about £7 a night. Staff are super friendly and speak very good english. Location is amazing too, everything is within walking distance and if something isn't, there are loads...

it is very clean and the price-performance ratio is suitable. beds are quite comfy for chinese standards. staff can speak english. i recommend to book in advance as they are always full. Moreover, use their airport service. Its only 200kuai and can be shared with others.

This hostel has a great location within walking distance to the Bund, Nanjing Rd, and other central locations. It's also very close to a couple of different metro lines. The restaurant downstairs has decent Chinese food at good prices and the bar upstairs has nice views of Shanghai. I would skip the 'breakfast' offered on the rooftop though - mediocre...

The room was good and the street had amazing street food just outside the door. The biggest downside was people were allowed to smoke in the rooms so for us non-smokers it required us to crack our window all day to avoid the slight smell of cigarettes in our room. The western style toilets were worth the price for us...

I would recommend staying here. Facility wise, it is the nicest hostel I have ever stayed at, but it feels more like a hotel. I would stay there again. Positive: + large room, and double bed in the single room + clean towels every day + they provide toiletries + many power outlets if you want to charge phone, camera,...

This hostel had very helpful reception, and were able to translate for us. The nearest metro station is less than a 5 minute walk, and The People's Park is around a 10 minute walk. The dormitory that we stayed in had large lockers, and easy access to top bunks. I only wish there was a water closet separate to the...

My partner and I stayed in a private double room two nights when we arrived in Shanghai and then one night before we left for Pu dong airport two weeks later. Both rooms were clean and perfect for what we needed. Check in was easy and strait forward, they were happy to hold our luggage for us before and after...

On our travels of china me and my husband have encountered a huge variety of hostels/hotels and must admit that you can't judge. The hostel is more like a hotel and nicer than some I've stayed in the UK. We stayed for 3 nights and the room was good and spacious and extremely clean! With a wet room shower cubicle...

This was a good place to stay, with a few shortcomings such as small room, almost transparent glasses of the bathroom in twin room, and was not a great street for International crowd. We just stayed here for one day and then moved out to another one that was much better.

Staying in People’s Square

Neighbourhood Profile
People’s Square
People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.
