This place is about 5-10 Minutes walking distance to Nanjing Rd. It's an old Chinese hotel, with the typical old Chinese hotel small. The room had seen better days, but is actually quite large. The bathroom is ok, a bit dark though. Except from a nearby clocktower the nights were quiet. I didn't try the breakfast, I had a look...

Well located, very near to the signature skyline of Shanghai, which is breathtaking. Clean room, nothing to report:). Staff barely speaks english, but there was no problem with checking in and out. Close to the metro station.

For the cheap price you get an amazing location BUT, the hotel in general is really bad, smelly, my room was not clean enough, and the carpet was super dirty. I had to disinfect the machine to heat my water. It was very dirty. The other areas in general are not well maintained. The rooms are not sound proof; I...

The hotel is very close to both the Bund and Nanjing road, which was quite convenient. A few minutes walk in any direction will bring you to small roadside restaurants. The building of the hotel itself looks very old and dusty from the outside. The lobby is nice, however the hotel staff speak no english at all. The rooms are...

You should not stay, in this hotel it is so bad and should not be 4 stars. The only positive with this hotel is the location. Otherwise the service is bad hardly speak English, the tricked us that breakfast was open but it was not because of the Chinese new year.

Baron Hotel, Shanghai, China My wife and I (both 60 years old), were staying at Baron Hotel, Shanghai, on 29-31, December, 2016. The most attractive futures of this hotel are: Location - a few blocks way to riverside of the Huangpu River (East Zhongshan First Road), which is the heart of old/new Shanghai. The pick-up/drop-off stops of the City Sight-seeing...

When I booked this hotel due to 'Business' being in its name and it's close proximity to The Bund, I did expect a bit more than what I had received unfortunately, but it did disappoint. In places the wallpaper was peeling off. There are no frills, but there was a night robe, shower gels etc. and the usual slippers. My...

Basically just a few mins walk to the Bund area, right in the midst of the older part of Shanghai. To me the bund areas is the place to go in Shanghai. Lots of restaurants nearby for one to discover and i wasn't disappointed. And if you like architecture, i thought the buildings all around were fantastic examples of the...

The area where the hotel resode is one ox tge best places in Shanghai! But the hotel has 5 floors only and is surrounded by high buildings, so even if you pay for extra view from the window, the only thing you will see is the walls and windows of the neighbor buildings that are 70 cm to 10 meters...

Staying in People’s Square

Neighbourhood Profile
People’s Square
People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.
