I spent one night here and found the hotel to be typical of University Guesthouses (宾馆). Check-in can be slow and so is check-out if others are being processed. The decor of the lobby is plain. The upstairs restaurant has good food but nothing spectacular. Breakfast is the usual Chinese breakfast fare. I didn't try the coffee. My room was...

As part of a professional exchange program with Fudan University, I stayed at this hotel for two weeks and it was an ideal location for daily campus visits and access to the vibrant but relatively quiet neighbourhood. My room was on the ground floor which was fine, although sometimes I could smell cigarette smoke coming in from outside the building...

This is a decent hotel with a clean room. The location is also convenient; it is close to the Fudan university as well as the Jingwan subway station. One thing that I found missing was the gym though.

I'll lead off with the one negative experience we had of the Yanyuan Hotel. Initially we were placed in a ground-floor room next to the emergency exit door. By evening the room was SWARMING with mosquitoes -- dozens of them. Our University hosts, however, were able to have us moved to the eighth floor. There we had no problems whatsoever....
