I went to The PuLi to try new menu from Chef Ugo at Phenix and I must say I was amazed by the finesse, the plating and the taste! They also upgrade Phenix layout with new tailormade table cloths from french linen supplier Garnier-Thibaut, new glasses and of course a bespoke and exquisite wine menu!!! Well done Chef, Vivian and the Team! I was very impressed by your work! 👏👏👏
My favorite hotel in Shanghai Back to PuLi for a weekend before new year. The Christmas decoration very pretty! Service is good. Greeting by smiling faces that made me feel so warm. Room looks a little bit tired but everything is still functioning well. A joyful stay I had!
We had a wonderful stay, upgraded us to a premium room. Room was very spacious.Abby,Kathy, and Vivi handled everything with absolute professionalism and grace. I love this place! Definitely staying here again！
Rooms are all very spacious. The hotel staff are extremely hospitable and kind. Very modern and nice rooms. The breakfast is great. Premium choices cooked and served for your mains and then pastry's, sides, congee, and other normal sides are buffet style. I stay in hotels a lot. So tired of the buffet breakfast. The Puli is great in that you get a freshly cooked tasty breakfast made to order and can still have all your favorite breakfast sides by choice in a buffet setting. The restaurant for dinner was also superb. I actually do not eat much western food but it was raining hard and i did not want to go out. So i stepped in and ordered the filet. It melted in my mouth like butter. Absolutely delicious. I was totally impressed. This is my third stay at the Puli. There will be many more. Last night i needed to get some documents signed for my attorneys in the states at like 3 or 4 am and was helped by a smiling friendly gem of person named Lisa. Although my experience with Lisa is the end of this review it is also the beginning. It was her friendly smile and great help at that early hour that motivated me to write this review. Clearly i love the hotel but that extra kind service she helped me with last night along with the 5 star service received always from the staff here at the Puli is why i will continue to keep The Puli as my go to spot to relax and enjoy my time in Shanghai. Love staying here!…
Stayed for 2 nights Much better than well-known top brand hotels in Shanghai Probably good fo family and business trip as well. Room service is pretty good for quick and convenient meal. Spa is the best that I ever had.
I was recently fortunate to spend a staycation weekend at the Puli Shanghai. The hotel team was very friendly throughout our stay; both at the reception counter and at the restaurant. Diner and breakfast were excellent; we really enjoyed the quality of the food. The property’s location is amazing with plenty of dining options around; we enjoyed a truly beautiful foodie weekend, all within walking distance. A great option for your next Shanghai staycation!
I was having a really bad day, so I decided I should visit a spa. I started researching spas and found that the Spa located at the Puli had some great reviews. Being that I'm someone who loves a luxury hotel...I decided to book into the hotel for 1 night and take advantage of the spa as well. I spent the first day at the spa and went back again before check out. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for tranquility in the city. I was able to shed the bad energy I had built up inside and I left feeling amazing and was ready to take on life again. The masseuse is a dream. Also, I enjoyed the room, the bath tub was very spacious and comfortable. The hotel also offers complimentary minibar which I love...this is unusual in Shanghai and I truly appreciate it. The staff at this hotel are also very attentive and kind. …
I planned a surprise for my husband at The Puli hotel and the staff was incredible accomodating and kind. The front desk and concierge were lovely and let me check in earlier than planned. The restaurant and spa staff were also really professional. The spa is wonderful and quiet, the rooms are great too. I wish puli would have an outdoor pool :) The hotel f&b is good really like the food even tho it’s a bit pricey. Drink list is great though I would like me to see an upgrade on the wine selection. overall it was really amazing and can’t wait to be back.
All the nice times pass so quickly, similarly the wonderful experience in Shanghai has come to its end. Not only due to the hotel, which quality I needn’t to particularly stress , but so much more for the hospitality and generosity of the Puli Hotel’s staff. Their warm assistance on everyday basis has made me feel at home and among friends. Come to Shanghai on business these days. This time I chose PuLi hotel. All things r prefect. And thx Abby, she provide very good service. So llllit！🔥 Xiexie
While there are currently few foreign tourists in Shanghai, upmarket hotel businesses continue to boom as wealthy Chinese are forced to take 'staycations'. In this repect, the PuLi is ideally situated in Shanghai. Most of the clientele will already have done the Bund whereas the Jing'an area still has plenty of attractions, not least high-end shops and an excellent selection of restaurants. The PuLi is ideally situated for such people and, for other reasons, also proved highly suitable for this laowai. There is a fair amount of competition in this district but the PuLi holds its own because of its exceptionally attentive staff. Being upgraded to an executive suite certainly helped to form a favorable impression on check-in but staff in the communal areas would not have had such information and still behaved impeccably. The suite itself proved to be sizeable but with a minimalist style - there were no photographs or paintings just a couple of objets d'art. The sleek grey brickwork on the wall facing the bed was a particularly nice touch. There is no separate bathroom so guests need to be comfortable seeing each other at their 'ablutions'. The bath was by the window, which allows guests to admire the Yan'an expressway in all its glory from the 23rd floor. Lighting, perhaps inevitably, was a bit dim and the switches were the usual nightmare - each had very faint labelling, so that it was impossible to read them in low light conditions, and there appeared to be no master on/off switch. The pedestal basins were fine but water was controlled by somewhat fussy 'joystick' taps, which guaranteed that water would drip from wet hands onto the floor. Additionally, there was not much in the way of surfaces near the basin to accommodate guest toiletries. Speaking of toiletries, the hotel currently still provides little plastic bottles of complimentary shampoo, conditioner and shower gel by default. I should stress that these are minor carps - overall the room was comfortable with a reasonably-sized bed and all the facilities one would expect. A particular highlight was the service, both associated with the room and in the communal areas. Little details matter - for example, a guest trying to log into the Hotel's WiFi system in the lobby was instantly helped by a member of staff. Similarly, on seeing guests walking towards lifts, staff would anticipate their needs and call a lift. Although I didn't try the spa, it should be noted that the swimming pool requires guests to wear swimming caps. Is this really necessary? Other high-end hotels don't have such a rule and it's unlikely that many male guests will have them. I'll write a separate review of the Michelin one-starred Phénix restaurant in the hotel but, suffice to say here, it was a highlight of the stay. Overall the PuLi exceeded expectations. Who could ask for anything more?…
