If you are looking for a budget accomodation option around the nanjing area this one should be your priority. situated right in the middle of nanjing road and only walkable distance from peoples square. The room was clean and tidy, towels are changed everyday. considering the rate offered and location this one is worth for every single penny you spent....

The hotel located in perfect location, just a walk to Nanjing Road pedestrian, the heart of Shanghai. The room spacious with standard amenities, clean and fresh air, since the windows is quite big. The TV Channel only Chinese language. Choose the top floor with main road view, enjoy the Shanghai just in front of your hotel. Bad breakfast, even it's...

+ The hotel is good generally. Clean room, good working A/C and very attentive housekeeping. + They provide guests with a locker, in case the guests want to explore the city after they checked out. + Location is very good, you can catch the metro from either People Square or East Nanjing Road station. - One our first day in...

This is a budget hotel, and it's an excellent budget hotel. Rooms are small but clean and the location could not be more central. Highly recommend it, as long as you don't expect luxury. By the way, you can book a single room for a couple, bed is big enough and it's a common practice in China. Oh, and the...

Great location. It's cheap compared to other hotels, certainly if you take the central location in consideration. Hotel has the basic needs: a standard comfy bed, a shower/bathroom, basic amenities, lcd tv and free wireless internet throughout the hotel which was quite quick. It's just a basic hotelroom. So the rooms and windows are not soundproof at all. The bigger...

Absolutely terrible staff. The most unfriendly and unhelpful reception that I have ever come across, which ruins a stay in an amazing city. One good thing is the location. One could not be more centrally located. Would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone. Not even an incredible location could make up for the horrible and spiteful attitude of the...

I stayed at Chun Shen Jiang for two nights. The hotel is centrally located, half way between People's Square and the Bund, and in the middle of the pedonal Nanjing Road (but you can reach it with taxi). The room we had was nice and clean with view on the street. There was working aircon, and towels and toilet paper...

Location (5/5) the location is perfect and bang on the nanjing road and equi-distant to both the east nanjing station and the people's square station ( about 200 metres). Reception(2/5) - Reception was quite cold and not helpful at all. There was little warmth in the greeting and i thought the swipe card system for lifts was good but giving...

5 star location on the city's walking street. very convenient to reach out to anywhere of this world famous city via public transportation system or a cab. however, the hardware and software of the hotel are less attractive. staff at front desk are, for sometimes, pretty rude toward guests. if one of them gives you a smile, then it's your...

Western standard hotel. The price was quite acceptable and the rooms quite adequate. The good part is the location is a major shopping street and several major must see sights close by. Nanjing road is on your left as you exit the hotel. Shanghai museum is a short walk from there. The hotel also has plenty of facilities should you...

Staying in People’s Square

Neighbourhood Profile
People’s Square
People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.
