If I could give less that one star, I would! We made a reservation for three guests on Hotels.com, where this hotel was announced as a “4 stars hotel”. Arrived at the property and after a long wait where no drinks and no place for my parents to sit was available, we finally got the room. It was filthy! It was being announced as a 3 person room, but only one bed was there, and they didn’t even bother to put a mattress on the hard-as-rock dirty sofa from the living room. If more evidence was needed that this was a room for 2 people, there were only two towels available (do they even bother to prepare the rooms??). We went to ask if they could help us change to a room where actually 3 people could stay, and they said it wasn’t their problem and that I should contact the website I made the reservation (!!!!). Since we noticed they wouldn’t be helpful at all and probably any room we got there would be filthy as well, we ended up cancelling and paying a cancellation fee. After that, the reception patched us up with a call to see what to do with our 200$ deposit fee. They wanted to block the amount for 30 days and only then give it back!! We ended up making a very weird deal to pay 5RMB with the credit card, after which they could release the deposit, giving us a 5RMB coin. Super stressful experience and definitely not the type of customer service I would expect from a 4 star hotel.

Hi all, I chose this hotel thinking its a nice deal for their "deluxe double room" who knew deluxe room is a tiny room that can barely fit a double bed? Yes theres a small sizable balcony, but its so dirty what am i gonna do with it? It tells u its 4 stars but it feels lile a 2 star. The pool and gym are outside thw building, good luck having anyone show you where they are. It took me 3 tries back amd forth to find out where the gym is. Once i got there, outdated equipments with duct taped keeing thinga form falling apart. I left then ask for refund after i left. Not staying there 1 more second.

Well i must say that it was my agents fault who blindly suggested me this property which was not worth a penny. There are too many instances that need mention: 1. The property is a run down property. The locational advantage is where its minting money from 2. Our room ac broke down the very first day and it was 10 pm when we checked in the manager told that he cant do anything as we dnt work this late. Wow!! 3. The room is not equipped with a basic soap. How!! 4. The extra bed was broken. My family member had to cuddle and sleep in the lower half of the bed as they refused to change until next day 5. The breakfast time told to us was 630 am to 10 am and its written in the hall but when i asked the reception at 930 to find where the bfast is being served he flatly told me we closed it down at 930 so we will not be able to serve you anything 6. The bfast next day was only pork and beef and we had to just take a bread and go out to a restaurant to find something pallatable 7. The room did not have basic coffee powder sugar sachets stirrer nothing. What is it all about then? Just two days of stay and so much to experience. Well my agent just like this hotel was also unprofessional to have suggested the property Too hauty staff and though they know english they refuse to speak NOT RECOMMENDED for your own good

The most interesting for this hotel are : 1) hot water 👍 2) location near by some fast food area, like Mc Donald or KFC. Good choice for me since i need no pork food. 3) near Metro Shanghai. 4) Near one shopping mall. 5) clean. 6) The size of the room acceptable.

Very outdated hotel, old, dirty carpets, cleaners do not bother to clean rooms - even not changing bedsheets, just folding them back on the bed. NOONE we tried to talk to spoke english. Breakfast pretty poor but ok. It says it has gym and pool, but those two are few blocks away - nice adventure to find it, good luck! Pictures do not show poor quality of rooms, broken AC, scrapped walls, dirty carpets in the room. Quite noise when facing the street. Location is GOOD, just nest to metro and Tianzifang market.

Based on the reviews, I was a bit concerned about this property, however, I found it be very pleasant. The room was very clean and the bathroom shower was very high end. The location was right next to both a modern and historical shopping area and across the street from a subway station. My only criticism was breakfast choices were a bit odd and the bed was a bit hard, but both are very typical of Chinese hotels. I would definitely stay here again.

Great spot. Lots to eat and see around this neighbourhood. Hotel is pretty run down, though the top 10 or 15 floors have been renovated and are much nicer. Rooms with balcony’s are smaller, but this can a nice touch. Breakfast is pretty average. Though have enjoyed the eggs and bananas that do go quick, but with the trip downstairs. Overall for the price I would stay again.

Hotel is ok to stay , but they should upgrade their standards. The staff is not cooperative at all ,they didn't had any staff member to drop off the luggageto the room, no one is at reception to greet, the rooms are not up.to the mark as per bookings, the bedsheets on mattresses were not spread properly, the nails of the drawer were not covered, the stopper of the washroom was broken. It's a request to the officiating authority to look into such matters seriously otherwise soon it wl be shut.

One would expect nothing more for a hotel in a big metropolis like Shanghai than a downtown location that is adjacent to not one but 2 major metro connection, that is reasonably priced. Moreover there are a number of good restaurants offering a variety of cuisines at different price points. The rooms or the hotel is a little old & facilities are a little rundown, but the competitive price more than makes up for this deficiency. What really mars the rating is the attitude of the staff, who seem to be under perpetual stupor. Everybody seems to be sleepwalking through their jobs, except for the housekeeping staff, who are quite efficient. The buffet breakfast is decent only if you don’t expect any customisation be it little less noodles for breakfast or your preference for the eggs to be fried only on one side, instead of it being fried on both. Anything you ask is met with the response “No/Don’t Know”. As mentioned in the earlier reviews the hotel caters to primarily Chinese guests & so the staff doesn’t speak much English, but their reluctance to help out the foreign guests is a bit of a put down. Sharing 2 examples, there is a money exchange right at the lobby with a ATM, but the staff neither helps out or suggest how to use it. Luckily the instructions are there in English & with graphic support can be operated by one familiar with English. The other was booking of tours at the hotel. There is a long list of tours right at the reception, but if you ask them to be booked a stony silence prevails. You are suggested to get on to the website, that’s only there in Chinese. One of the concierge strangely gets quite rude if asked for clarification twice or more. The other one is helpful but his accuracy is suspect. On the whole, a decent enough hotel in a very good location if you are ready to be patient and are ready to accept working your way in getting the things done by plodding the people around a little.

Overall the checkin experience was smooth. The hallways to the hotel are dated and need of repair. The same goes for the overall conditions of the room. The beds are comfortable and clean. The bathroom is clean, and the shower has great water pressure. The TV would not work during my stay. Access to a large balcony with a view was a bonus. If you don’t need any frills, then you will be okay with Rayfont.
