Overall it was a nice experience, but I truly think they need to renovate the rooms. The Board Walk is still worth the walk! The food was not great, but we did have them change our item choice up a bit, so in fairness that...More

We were at the pool today, and meet a security guard named Daniel or Danny. I think it was Daniel. He went above and behind as a pool attended/security guard. Every time we saw him he was interacting with everyone at the pool. We are...More
With all the hype, we expected more. The setting is lovely, right on the bay, but there are some issues that detracted--like those appealing rocking chairs on balconies diabolically designed not to rock (photo). Outdoor seating too was lacking, very few benches and swings, so...More

After making a reservation months ago, confirming the reservation the day of arrival, and driving 200 miles we were told they did not have a room for us. The hotel had oversold and that they would put us up at the holiday inn express. Not...More

We were there 6/3 through 6/5. They have finished everything except the formal restaurants in the lobby area. They do serve three meals daily from a pool restaurant. They changed up the lobby a lot and freshened up all the rooms. They also improved the grounds, but the old favorites remain, including all the live oaks, adult pool, etc. There is no longer a gift shop in the lobby— replaced by a grab-and-go food option, and the lobby furnishings have been updated a lot. We were prepared for the worst, as we love history, but they have actually done a great job. Just be prepared for limited dining options. We went out for dinner both evenings.
