We grew up 3 doors down from this historic memory in the 70's. Wendy and Bill have done a great job in restoring the old gal. Wendy is quite the Innkeeper. She even invited the neighbor who has lived in our old house for 2 decades over the visit- so nice. The breakfast was as good as any Brennan option... More

My wife and I were travelling through Mobile as part of our Gulf Coast trip from Florida to Texas in September 2009 (sorry for the late review) and didn't really know where to stay (being from London and clueless). We found Kate Shepherd House recommended on another website and decided to email them to find out if they had availability... More

My husband and I decided to travel to Mobile for our "babymoon" recently. Kate Sheppard House was the first thing that pulled up in Google. We were traveling with dogs, so our main concern was finding a dog-friendly place to stay. I called, and Wendy was literally the nicest person I've ever spoken to on the phone. She sounded genuinely... More

We spent our honeymoon at The Kate Shepard House B&B, and it couldn't have been more perfect. Wendy and Bill are the nicest, most gracious hosts we've ever experienced. The house is stunning. We stayed in the Mobile Bay room, and it was lovely. Wendy had left us a lovely note at the door with instructions to accomodate our check-in... More

Owners are warm, personable and they seem to savor the house and they enjoy sharing its special history. The house is is located on a quiet residential street; it is comfortable and nicely appointed. The delicious breakfast is enhanced by discussing the house and the area's interesting history. Wendy's previous international hotel experience and Bill's maintenance skills translate into a... We are on a tour of the south and at this point decided that we'd like to see Mobile. Wendy and Bill had one room left with our notice of 2 days. We are so blessed to have found their lovely home and the town. Best night of sleep on our entire trip of 3 weeks. Now on our way... More

I made my way to Mobile for an industry conference, and due to the timing of the event (Right on the heels of Mardi Gras) and my tardiness in booking a room, my options were few and far between. When I finally stumbled on Wendy and the Kate Shepard House B&B, I was equal parts relieved and enthusiastic: She had... More

The house is a southern gem...Wendy welcomed us graciously even though we arrived a few hours before scheduled check-in. The neighborhood is beautiful. It is close to downtown and great restaurants. Wendy provided restaurant recommendations and helped us with places to see. The breakfasts were delicious...especially the Pecan Praline French Toast.

This is a wonderful historic, intimate and friendly B&B, with great access to downtown Mobile. The B&B, which is located on a beautiful side street near downtown, has only three rooms- so book early. Wendy, the innkeeper, couldn't be more welcoming or friendly. Available the moment we arrived, she provided excellent recommendations to local Mobile restaurants, places to see, a... More

"Elegant, historically authentic setting", "exquisitely crafted, gourmet breakfasts", and "genuine warmth in the friendly hospitality" are a small sampling of our thoughts as we left Mobile. We actually stayed an extra night just to luxuriate in the comfort and nurturing environment created by owners, Wendy and Bill. This stately, old home stands alone in her loving and professional restoration; much... More
