Heeren House is a great place to stay in Melaka. It's an old house by the river that gives the feel and ambiance of cultural warmth. It's very cozy and homey with rooms that gives a great view of the river and the Melakan community. You wake up to the sound of hawks by the river every morning with a...

Not sure why nobody mentioned this but this guesthouse is at the noisiest part of town, you have these trishaw guys cycling by and having their music on full blast. You can also easily hear the band from the next pub. Opposite are some big trees with thousands of birds noisy throughout the night and right in front of the...

Really good position overlooking the river and away from the noisiest part of town. The staff were charming and helpful. They also cooked some really nice dinners for us we had some fun with the staff while we were staying and would really recommend Heeren House

We had a wonderful 5 day stay at Heeren House. Don't expect a 5-star hotel (the building is 200 years old after all) but the character and ambience of this place, and the friendliness of the staff and the tasty food more than make up for it. All the staff were great. When Selen found out it was our son's...

The food was mainstream but the price really ridiculous for a small piece of fish. We were served in a plastic plate. No napkins as well. A tipic turistic trap.. a shamed. Do not go there. NO GO RESTAURANT.

Hi Alexandru B, We at Heeren House serve local Peranakan or Baba Nyonya cuisine. Your friend and you walked into our restaurant at about 11.10pm when our kitchen was already closed and most of the other restaurants in the area were closed too. However, we opened our kitchen for your very late order and your friend said that he doesn't...

To be perfectly honest, I've always stayed at new modern hotels on my travels so booking an old guest house that's built by the Dutch more than 200 years ago is a novel experience. When I arrived, I was struck by the quaintness of Heeren House and its antique furnishings which reminded me of my grandma's house that I grew...

Generally the staff of Heeren House were very friendly and we were warm-welcomed. I booked a night before the check in date through the website and they responded very fast to confirm the booking. The English breakfast was great and the portion was large enough for sharing. There was no parking for the guests. You need to park at the...

The hotel was clean, room with pretty nice view on the colorful harbor, the towel and bedding fresh. Whole hotel was in colonial style and looks quite good. Toilet clean, staff polite, service was very good. Room not the not cheapest but worth the price.

Dear Bart Jarz, Thank you for your compliments for Heeren House, it was an encouraging feedback for our team to maintain our services and heritage guesthouse and achieve further satisfaction for our customers. Our riverside guesthouse is filled with many colonial and Peranakan antique furnitures, we hope our guests can appreciate them. We always remind ourselves to be most polite...

Me and my 2 friends stayed in this hostel for 3 nights. We liked the location and staff very much. In the other hand, breakfasts wasnt what we expected for "english breakfast" - two toasts with salted butter and one small fruit jam. Other thing we were dissapointed in was internet. It worked only sometimes and very slow. Otherwise everything...

Dear Pavel, We appreciate your review and good feedback to us for our constant improvement. We would like to mention that the limited breakfast that you and your friends had was because the twin single room was occupied by 3 of you and your friends and only charged at a rate for 2 person. Therefore, our staff had already explained...
