First of all, we had great stay even though the room just basic, What can I expect, friendly staff, very clean, Easy access to Jonker Street, just 100meter from we was staying. Really cheap what we paid for, with air condition we are good and probably will come again and fully recommended.
Very convenient hotel with very friendly staff and for a good range price, in a good location. I spend 3 nighs there and i really enjoy the stay at that place. If i come back to malakah again, for sure it's this Hotel i will choose.
I really enjoy to stay for a week at voyage home very beautiful old building very friendly staff feel like at home .the price is also reasonable The location is also very convenient near by the jonker street and the river l will be back and recommend to other travelers
We decided to travel to Malacca very last minute, so found this hostel the day before we were leaving. There were 6 of us in total aged between 22-24, we are currently living and working in Malaysia and love to travel around Asia, so we have been to many hostels and this was by far the worst yet. The place is extremely basic, there are only fans and there's not enough for everyone in the room so if you are unlucky enough like myself to have the room closest to the door you won't have fan hitting you, and you'll also have the smell of sewerage wafting every 5 minutes. As if the heat and smell isn't bad enough, you'll also leave with quite a lot of mosquito bites, there nets above the beds to use but unfortunately mine had some big holes in therefore mosquitos got in, (and aren't I feeling the consequence now) I woke up to a mosquito dead in my bed, despite using repellent and having this net. The other problem is that there are no plug points, only enough for the fans, and seeing as there aren't enough fans, unplugging one to charger your phone or camera (when there are a lot of other people who need to charge theirs) is a nightmare as you need the fan as its so hot. This was difficult as we had no camera or phone to take many pictures, luckily one of us had a portable charger, but we needed this charge for google maps on our way home, this did slightly ruin the experience. Overall, if you can pay even just a little bit more to stay somewhere else I would recommend you to do that. The town is very small so wherever you stay everything is within walking distance or cycling, so don't just stay there for location purposes.…
When you easily get homesick, dont go here: you will get homesick once you leave. Great staff, they try to make the best out of your stay. Celebrated both Valentines Day and my Birthday here. I will go back! Oh, when you go: say hi to my goldfish!
My stay here was for ten days, which was only initially going to be four or five, then I extended to a week, then ten days because it was just so easy to chill here. Melaka was a really great place to unwind and doing it here with Voyage was awesome. The manager(s) John and Romy(?) were very helpful and knowledgeable and also were fun to socialise with in the evenings. We also often ate with them, which gave a more homestay type vibe. The place had free bikes and free pool which was an unexpected bonus when bikes were a rip off to hire everywhere else around Melaka. It is situated on harmony street where there's three different religious buildings all on the same street, and it runs parallel to Jonker street, so everything is walkable. Would visit again.
An old charm guesthouse located in the heritage area and just a street away bustling Jonker St. Not a place for fussy hotel guests as furniture is spartan and very 60s. The rooms give a feel of sleeping at your grandparents place. All 4 rooms are located upstairs and all have Windows. Shower and toilet failities are shared and located downstairs. 2 plus points are its location and friendly Nepali caretakers (name is Romy). A pool table and free bicycles usage was appreciated. Generally no big complaints except perhaps owner could provide nice white sheets and better quality blankets.
Right near jonker street and China town, this hostel / guest house is great for budget backpackers. 45 rm for a double room with big windows and king size bed, mosquito net and a small table + chair. Showers and toilets are good and clean. Free bikes, chill out common room with nice tunes on, book swap, and they offer activities like tug wars, kite flying, cooking together etc. The wifi is bad but apart from that I couldn't possibly think of anything else to complain about :)
We came to Malacca not expecting to do much and lay low before Singapore. We found this hostel and it's amazing! So friendly and welcoming, really can't expect more from these guys. I couldn't pay for a meal because I ran out of ringgit and Season (his FB name) paid for it and have us vodka and wine! Great guy, great hostel and a 5 Star from me! Also made use breakfast the day we left, outstanding.
