Our stay was a very memorable one, Love the cozy feel and the ambience of the whole place. Breakfast was fabulous was cooked when we came in. Can't wait to come back. Even more than we expected!!! The bed was very comfortable. If you need a cozy getaway this is the place to come.
My husband and I just spent our 10 year anniversary at Hooper House this weekend and it was exactly the thing we needed! Michelle was an amazing hostess, and took such great care of us. The rooms were clean and cozy, we didn’t want for anything. There were complementary bikes for us to use which was great since Guntersville is beautiful and very scenic. There are plenty of areas to hike and enjoy the outdoors and the main strip of town has lots of shops, a gorgeous spa and several restaurants within walking distance of the bed and breakfast. Speaking of breakfast- it was SO delicious! My favorite was the stuffed French toast Michelle prepared for us. Hands down, the best I have ever had! I also loved the homemade sangria served at happy hour- so yummy. This woman is seriously a rockstar. She had a smile on her face each time we saw her and she made us feel so comfortable and at home. I will say this- I had some trouble getting in touch with someone to ask a couple of questions prior to booking. But once I arrived I could see why. This woman is running this whole show by herself! She literally does everything. So please have some grace if you don’t get her right away. She’s not sitting at the front desk waiting to answer the phone and most of the questions can be answered via the website, anyway. You seriously won’t regret staying here, and once you arrive you will see why! It’s absolutely worth your time and I’m looking forward to our next stay. We’ll absolutely be back!…
Lovely bed and breakfast! Clean and comfortable. Stylish, tasteful decor. Great breakfast too. Only negative is after we had already been waiting over half an hour for breakfast, another couple sat down and within a minute of being seated, they were served 2 breakfast plates that should have gone to us. It was annoying but these things happen. I know there’s a lot to manage on site and it wasn’t intentional. After 45 mins, we were served a tasty breakfast that was worth the wait!
Definitely recommend this place! Relaxing and eclectic, with large verandas and a view of Lake Guntersville. The owner, Michelle, was welcoming and pleasant, and our rooms were great. We stayed Friday through Sunday 11-13 Sept. there is a hospitality kitchen on the second floor, and a game room on the top floor, along with chase lounges and a hammock overlooking the lake. Breakfast was great both days, and she has a good selection of cereals, fruits and yogurt in addition to hot entrees. The crime brûlée french toast was a gourmet treat. We will return again soon! PS to Michelle, hope you enjoyed the sourdough bread!
Our host was extremely nice and accommodating. Michelle gave great suggestions of things we could do around Guntersville. We enjoyed the day at the waterfall, high falls. The sangria was very tasty during happy hour. The rooms were very clean and the lavender room even smells like lavender. Our breakfast was amazing and included French toast with blueberry butter stuffing, buttermilk syrup, sausage, and cheese grits. The view of the the second floor was very nice overlooking the lake. We will have to visit again!
