Highly recommend this wonderful RV park. Sites are large, level and paved. Recommend a site on south side of the road so afternoon sun is not on your patio. Lots to do here. Many great restaurants in the area, beautiful beach, superb pier with good fishing. Most workers are volunteers and are very pleasant.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom lake front cabin for 3 nights. The cabin was very clean. The living room couch and chair were a bit older but fine. A couple window screens needed maintained. Very quiet during the daytime and night but in late April. Abt a 5 minute drive to the beach which was wonderful! The only downside,... More

I have camped at many parks throughout the US. The spaces are BIG. Sewer, water, electric, and the sites are level and paved. Beaches are close by but you have to drivr. No fire rings but they have barbecue stands. Love the park!

Everything was perfect. We had a waterfront site and greatly enjoyed a weekend of beach, sun and fun. Everything about the campgrounds was perfect- checkin was quick fast and easy. Bathhouse was pristine. Our site was spectacular.

This state park is a jewel. A perfect place to walk or bike. We saw gators and many many different types of birds. Everything frome herons, woodpeckers to ospreys. A very easy walk or bike trail. It is very flat so everyone could manage it in our group with no problems. This was an inexpensive treat.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Gulf Shores State Park. The park is very well maintained, the bathrooms were pristine, suites were paved and large. The only two downsides....the price was a bit high and the water had a high iron content. For this reason we did not hook up to water. Make sure you run the water... More

This is the 2nd year in a row we have stayed here with our camper. Sites are big and spacious and bathhouse are perfect. Always clean and taken care of. The only downfall I can see is its not very shady but besides that we love it. Did have a problem with making the reservation. I wanted to start on... More

This is the first time we had stayed for any length of time at a park that caters to Snowbirds. Frankly that is part of the reason we chose the location as we needed to stay put for more than two weeks. The residents have bonded well over time and welcome newcomers easily. I blended into the 3x/week exercise class... More

Love this place, we had a fantastic get-a -way. The pet friendly cabin, the walking trails, the Rangers, the entire team is top notch. The facilities are well maintained and clean. Location to beaches and restaurants can't be beat.

Four of us stayed in a pet-friendly cabin over New Year's. A $15/day fee is added on for pet damage - not bad, not great. Having said that, here's my warning list: 1) beds are double, hard as concrete, 2) beds had sheets and coverlet only; no blankets anywhere, 3) cooking stove was apartment sized, dirty oven, elements kept coming... Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Approximately 1.5 miles from the white sands of the gulf beaches, Gulf State Park offers a 496-site improved campground including 11 modern bathhouses, pull-thru sites, back-in sites, water front campsites, and ADA accessible sites. Tents are also welcome in our campground. Great for spending time with family and friends, all camping pads are paved and big enough for large RVs with pullouts. All sites have water, sewer and electricity (20, 30, and 50 amp), a picnic table, and pedestal grill. There are laundry facilities and recycling bins located beside the Campstore to accommodate our guests. There are two playgrounds located in the campground. Gulf State Park offers very limited WiFi service and cannot guarantee service. New to Gulf State Park are 11 brand new primitive camping sites that include stone campfire rings, grill tops, and picnic tables. These new sites are nestled among the trees and on the creek, and include access to the bathhouses, playgrounds, and laundry facilities. ... more   less
