Our third visit here and without rehashing all the amenities we've reviewed in the past here's the new slant: brand new bike and hiking trails in optimum condition. Wi-fi is finally up and working but if it goes down you can feed your internet habit at the camp store pavilion. The park remains clean and well tended to with all...

Gulf Shores was one of our main destinations on our long cross country motor home trip. It was quite expensive, but it was a place I really wanted to see so we bit the bullet and paid the price. It really was a nice experience. The staff were very polite and helpful. The sites are very large and that makes...

We loved this park! We have a 28ft travel trailer and camped on Live Oak Dr. in a back-in spot on the water. There was a small amount of shade but not much, had we been across the road it would have been better but we wanted a water view. Next time we may skip the view and opt for...

We stayed here over spring break with a group of family and friends. We have a class A motorhome. The sites are very large with an Asphalt parking strip and large picnic area. If you want to have a fire you must have an elevated fire pit 6" off the ground. If possible get a site off the main drag....

We stayed for a week at Gulf State Park in our camper. It has a large campground but did not feel crowded. The bike trails were great and there were plenty of them. The beach was nice also. The only thing that I did not like was that there were no campfire rings at the campsites. We will definitely be...

Stayed here over spring break. Full-hook up sites for a great price. Super clean bathrooms and laundry room. The workers were constantly buzzing around the park doing maintenance and upkeep. Campers get a free parking pass to the beach pavilion parking area that is a mile or so away. Great amenities for the kids: pool, basketball court, tennis, nature center,...

We stayed at this state park in their campground for two nights in our motorhome. Easy check-in and spacious sites. There is a very nice pool with splash pad area. Lots of trails and activities for kids. We would definitely stay here again.

This is the most beautiful state park we've seen (and we've seen them all over the country). To say staff was disorganized is so far from the truth. We arrived April 1 which is the busiest time; RV's were lined up 6 deep - we were checked in & at our campsite within 10 minutes - record time!!! Staff was...

Loved the bathrooms and showers, best I've seen. The check in was a process, took about 30-45 minutes with campers backed up. The grounds are being cultivated, I expect they'll be better as time goes by. Scrubby beach plants, so you are definitely going more for the location to the beach than the view. There are lake side pads but...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Approximately 1.5 miles from the white sands of the gulf beaches, Gulf State Park offers a 496-site improved campground including 11 modern bathhouses, pull-thru sites, back-in sites, water front campsites, and ADA accessible sites. Tents are also welcome in our campground. Great for spending time with family and friends, all camping pads are paved and big enough for large RVs with pullouts. All sites have water, sewer and electricity (20, 30, and 50 amp), a picnic table, and pedestal grill. There are laundry facilities and recycling bins located beside the Campstore to accommodate our guests. There are two playgrounds located in the campground. Gulf State Park offers very limited WiFi service and cannot guarantee service. New to Gulf State Park are 11 brand new primitive camping sites that include stone campfire rings, grill tops, and picnic tables. These new sites are nestled among the trees and on the creek, and include access to the bathhouses, playgrounds, and laundry facilities. ... more   less
