We stayed at Blue chip guest house while attending a friends wedding in Kolkata as he stayed just down the road.Initially we found it to be expensive and old, but it was a perfect stay. The staff was very friendly and they cooked home food for young ones whatever we asked. You can reach anytime and they will open the...

My cousins live down the block, so we stay here often. This is Indian style in the best sense. Clean and simple, attentive staff, without the Western hotel style fanfare. They'll serve you breakfast. I speak some Bengali, so I'm not sure how good the English is. If you're a Western traveller who wants to try a less touristy option,...

We stayed for 4 nights to attend a wedding in kolkata. Excellent homely guest house.rooms on 1st floor with balcony are good sized well maintained and clean. We got new towels and crisp linen. Food is home cooked, not spicy and very tasty. They are willing to prepare dishes as per your request. Staff is very helpful and attentive.

Typical Bengali B&B, friendly and very accommodating welcome. A little worn and dated, but comfortable beds, shower and lovely food. breakfasts great, fruit, tea, toast or bengali traditional breakfast treats. If travelling alone a very good place to stay as staff look after you very well, like being at home.

We had a very good stay there, room was spacious but very old. I found the rate too high for what you get. However, the food there is amazing and it is prized very reasonably including the drinks. Taxi drivers don't know the place and it can be a hassle to get there...

We found it to be a long way from anywhere. Very inconvenient for center city, stations, sights and airport. Very small and rather dark place, not much light anywhere. Thought there might be a roof garden but not so. Our room was on the ground floor close to the street and hence, somewhat noisy. Overpriced for what it is considering...

This is one of the nicest hotel experiences I can remember and I spend seemingly half my life in 5 star hotels. If you're expecting white cotton sheets and high design think again. But what you'll get here is proper Bengali hospitality at its finest. The food is to die for. Even the dahi is home made. It's quiet, comfortable...

I stayed in this guesthouse twice. First booked on booking.com, then in person for one night for ten days later. In both cases, I got a room next to the reception on the ground floor, but different ones each time. Room no 1. was OK, comfortable bed, bathroom with a separate shower, which is almost unheard of in Indian hotels....

I was there for 21 days in October. It was an amazing experience. The room was extremely cozy and comfortable and the location is fantastic. The food (an eclectic mix of Bengali, North Indian and South Indian) was out of this world and much better than some of the best restaurants we visited in Kolkata. The homely touch from having...

I was there for 3 weeks in October and it was a home away from home. The rooms were spotless with good a/c. Good size with wifi and flat screen tv. The food was incredible. Better than most of the 5 start restaurants in Kolkata. The hotel staff were all extremely accomodating and looked to make your stay as comfortable...
