People were complaining of Bedbugs. Asked the receptionist. "we cannot confirm or deny the presence of Bedbugs...." Then he added this gem, "This isn't really bedbug season." Ran out as fast as I could.

Would rather go for something not that central but cheaper and much much cleaner like Kolkata youth hostel. This place is too expensive for dirty beds and rooms. However the good part is that you are central and get free wifi. Would not recommend it.

This is the best of the budget options in Sudder Street. Rooms are a bit grubby, but much better than the alternatives. Hot water by the bucket available, and Wi-Fi too (though sometimes not reliable connection). Good location, and overall good value for money

we stayed there for 3 nights in January. It's very very cheap, I stayed in cheaper hostels in India with better conditions, a terrible attention, terrible place, awful bathrooms/toilets, very bad internet, the ONLY good thing is the location and the price, I think you could find better places to stay!

Not clean, AT ALL Has (unreliable) WiFi Set a fire in the corridor to smoke out mosquitoes. WITHOUT TELLING US. We thought the building had caught fire. Two beautiful friendly cats, who they clearly don't feed very well. The cats are always knocking over the bins to get food, so usually rubbish all along the corridor. Staff smoke and leave...

My friend and I stayed here for nearly 2 weeks while we were volunteering in Kolkata. It is central, close to many restaurants, cafes and shops, and also quite close to the metro station. It is ridiculously cheap - we paid 250 rupees each for a private room with our own bathroom, but you get what you pay for. Our...

Good sides are location and fare. Located very near new market and park street metro station. Transport available easily for all places. Everything else about this place is below standard. Rooms are not clean, staffs not very helpful. But if you are looking for a cheap hotel only to stay for the night, you can go for it.

Only under extremely desperate circumstances would you stay at this place, be warned it has all the hallmarks of a stay in prison, the staff, with the exception of 1 happy sort of guy were rude and arrogant particularly the head honcho who took it to a new level. The clientele at this place were mainly local men who would...

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights at the start of June. The hotel is very very cheap, so I guess you get what you pay for, and it's quite a good location in the heart of the busy touristy Sudders street. Also the guy that ran the place initially seemed really helpful and friendly. However, only stay here if...

Pro's: - 350INR for my room for a night. Con's - I eventually worked out that lingering smell in my room was a mix of BO and urine. - They staff do get aggressive if you ask what the wifi password is and enter it themselves. - They manager will get aggressive if you ask for a towel even if...
