Room: Executive room. Large beautifully furnished room with facilities for tea, coffee. Large attached washroom with towels, complimentary toiletries, running hot water 24/7. The only drawback was it had no view of the mountains; it looked out onto another building next door.

We had four rooms in one cluster in the high zone overlooking the city and it was the most amazing three days that we spent there. Fabulous property with outstanding service and eye for detail. Food was excellent and the menu was changed very imaginatively every day. Staff

Hi, So you are probably referring to the Lloyd's Cottages which are the Deluxe Rooms to the north of the reception having a view of the valley and Sandakphu in the distance. So when booking, do mention your preference of being allotted a deluxe room in the Lloyd's Cottages.

Can we reach Mayfair by car and does it have parking?
Yah. Limited car facilities. Moreover they will arrange any how if you go there as a guest. May Fair is the best place to stay and enjoy with family. Environment is too much clam.

Hi! I represent the hotel and would be delighted to answer your questions as below: 1. What are the rooms with best view? The rooms in the Heritage Wing including the attics and the cottages without a doubt. However, for the first floor rooms in the Heritage wing, you'd need to climb two flights of stairs of around 10 steps each. The closest cottages would include about 10-12 steps of climbing for the ground level. 2. How are they accessible? How many stairs need to be climbed? So while from the main entrance (near the Governor's house, there's a ramp followed by an incline of steps, I'd recommend using the lower entrance which has a ramp which will lead you to the reception, rooms and restaurant level. Its completely wheelchair enabled so the gradient isn't much either. 3. Are there rooms with kitchenette? Are the rooms equipped with electric kettle and small fridge? (traveling with toddler) We do have an apartment style room in the Orchid Villa which has a kitchenette facility. However, this is for long staying guests and would involve considerable flights of stairs. I would not recommend this room for someone with a knee problem especially when you can get more accessible rooms and the kitchen team is always happy to assist with special dietary requirements. 4. Does the hotel kitchen provide simple child meal on request? (Not seeing good review about room services) Of course we can do that. Being a smaller heritage hotel, during peak tourist season (April, May, June) the room service can take a little longer than usual. 30 minutes is the average wait time for room service. 5. Some reviews described about construction work and coverage of the view. How are they hampered? Over the past few years, we've had some construction work happen around the hotel contributing to even more hotels in Darjeeling. However, that work is over and while some part of the view from the lower altitude executive rooms are hampered towards the town, the reception level rooms of the executive category, heritage wing rooms (facing the ranges) and cottages still give you great valley views. 6. Is simple chilling with kids inside the hotel garden premises doable? Our hotels love kids and chilling inside within garden premises or the playroom is definitely not a problem :). We even have babysitting services so help you enjoy your holiday even more.
