There is no doubt that the road to Glenburn is uncomfortable and sometimes scary but when you arrive if you are like us you will think it was worth it. The property is charming, with sweeping views and colourful flowerbeds. We were greeted pleasantly enough by a young man(status unknown) and after some formalities taken to our room which was...

Dear TrueBrit Many thanks for your review. As the manager I am very disappointed to hear that your over night stay with us was not perfect. Unfortunately I did not get the opportunity to meet you and rectify anything that you weren't happy with. We pride ourselves on our food so I regret that you found it bland the night...

High in the clouds perched on a little mountain near Darjeeling sits the most incredible retreat in all of India. I looked forward to my stay for months, but nothing could have prepared me for just how WONDERFUL this place is. It's probably the closest thing I can imagine to being royalty- such a beautiful example of old colonial splendour,...

A beautiful place under the shadows of Darjeeling and majestic view of Towering Kanchanjenga. Located on a ridge surrounded by tea plantation. Spacious accommodation with large rooms beautifully decorated with cultural paintings. Food is excellent with menu different every day. That whole staff is courteous and ever smiling. Plenty of activities which can be arranged by the management if you...

The views from all around both properties were breath-taking and we enjoyed some of the recommended walks you can do around the grounds, especially being treated to a delicious lunch down at the river. The food was great throughout the 4 days, sitting outside for breakfast and lunches is a treat (as long as the flies are not out in...

Thanks so much for your review, I'm so delighted that you enjoyed your time here so much and we really appreciate your positive feedback. We do have trainees working at the moment and perhaps that explains the issue with communication. It is a good point and one that I will keep an eye on from now on. Do hope you...

On the journey down to Glenburn I was rather wishing we had just stayed in Darjeeling ...and then we arrived. From the moment we stepped out of the car I was smitten! There was a lovely warm welcome from Jemima and Glenburn itself is the most beautiful place, it feels straight from the pages of an upmarket magazine. The house...

So delighted that you didn't stay in Darjeeling but came and spent a couple of nights at Glenburn. The only downside was that it wasn't for longer than 2 nights! Thanks so much for your review and all the positive feedback. Look forward to seeing you back in the UK and do please come back to Glenburn when you are...

I will never forget my time spent at Glenburn - it was truly magical and will always have a warm place in my heart. From the lovely driver Ranjan who picked me up from the airport with a refreshing glass of homemade lemonade and a picnic to the lovely, attentive managers Holly and Jemima who welcomed me with a green...

We stayed for two nights in the wonderful setting of mountain scenery and colonial splendid isolation. The road access is difficult, but no more so than many locations we have visited in the sub continent. Rooms are splendid - large and airy with good quality fittings and great views when the mist clears from the mountains. The guest relationship managers...

Thank you so much for taking the trouble to review your stay with us. We are delighted to hear all your positive comments about Glenburn. Understated elegance, unobtrusive service and superb comfort food using the best of local produce with a focus on the hill cuisines of north east India sums up the Glenburn experience. Glenburn effortlessly creates the ambience of a country house weekend, with the guests mingling easily over evening drinks followed by a communal dinner around a cosy dining table with the...

This hotel is excellent, I will certainly return. From the pick up at the airport, tea on route and the well appointed rooms I really can't fault it, the views from anywhere in the hotel are breathtaking, the food, although limited in choice is excellent, if you like walking and enjoy peace and quite this would be a great choice,...
