I like trying new hotels for myself and Family while traveling fr business.Elgin is a well known Heritage hotel and I had an Amazing stay here.Mr.Badal the Manager,Ashok, Jason, Manish,Sharon,Narendra,Dawa,Prashant,Akshay,Sanjay,Sanjay,Suman,Umesh n House keeping team made it even more welcoming n warm.Great Location,Modern clean Rooms, Good choices of Breakfast and freshly made food. We had an excellent experience in this hotel. The room was well appointed with a comfortable bed and great little amenities like a robe. The staff was so accommodating and would help you as soon as possible. The food was great and especially loved the fish pie and roasted chicken. We would go into the sitting room and sit at fireplace and have high tea or drinks. This is a great place and will come back again.
it's a 2 star hotel , if you looking for a family hotel and service book MAYFAIR , elgin has worst of staff in F&B , rooms are broken types it's not even close to a 2 star .Worst experience I had in my life.
The Elgin Darjeeling is THE BEST resort to spend your vacation in if you want to go to a second home rather than a hotel. Once you enter the hotel, you would want to stay there forever. The lounge is filled with artworks and curios which gives the place an ambience that cannot be described in words. The staff is proficient, caring and respectful in each and every way led by the manager Mr. Badal Majumdar, who was very helpful during a certain sudden emergency which befell us during our stay. The rooms are cozy and clean. Keeping the pandemic in mind the rooms are well sanitised as well. Running hot water is always on the tap. Room service is exceptional. Restaurant is immaculate with excellent quality food. We also had the honour to meet the owners of this hotel Mr. Brij Raj Oberoi and his lovely wife Mrs Nimmi Oberoi. They are the main reason why The Elgin Darjeeling, is the way it is for so many years. Mr. Diamond Oberoi and Mrs. Nimmi Oberoi are not hoteliers, they are artists... Who are extremely passionate and caring about all their hotels. As his name suggests Mr. Oberoi is an absolute Gem of a person to be acquainted with. Having a cup of tea and a conversation with the Dynamic Duo was probably one of the best parts of my vacation. Finally my review cannot end without mentioning 'Casper' , the very lovable and playful lab who greets you on your arrival to this hotel. An absolute powerhouse. He's so adorable that you will definitely miss him once you leave. Book your stay with them if you want a true heritage experience for the right value for money.…
I talk with them during Covid time during end of Sept for a booking at the end of 2020, if everything goes well. They informed me about the Covid test and send a good rate for the booking. I waited for a month and half to get the situation better and asked for booking confirmation in early Nov for end of 2020. They are generally late on responding mail. When they respond back, they just shoot the price with 5k+, than what was quoted me back. When I asked the reason they said, as demand went up we also gone up and I enquired them during their bad time. So NO promise to keep from this hotel. This is business these pranksters are doing.
