Tathagata Farm is located in a rural village setting in a scenic part of Darjeeling, India. The place offers simple food, comfortable stay and hospitable staff and owner. It's a small and quaint little place to relax and unwind. There is great potential for short walks, treks, nature walks, tea garden visits and also take on mountain biking as an activity around the place or interact with the local village farmers who are proud of their village and their organic produce. Come and experience simplicity.

Best time to visit?
Apart from the monsoon months - June to September - rest of the year should be fine. It is situated at an altitude lower than that of Darjeeling, hence winters should not be as cold as Darjeeling.

Dear Guest, Thank you for writing to us. All our toilets are western style and have proper showers. However, one important thing to remember if you are thinking about staying at Tathagata Farm is that it is remotely located and perched on the side of a hill, to reach to the farm you need to walk downhill for 3--5 minutes even more for some people on winding pathways and climb uphill to get to the car parking. If you have problems with your knees then we would advise not to stay at the farm. It is sad to not have you visit us but we need to be upfront and sincere about what we have and what we do not. Thank you again for the message. We appreciate it. Regards. Pravin.

Dear Traveler, Yes, there is one nice hike downhill from Darjeeling town to the Farm. You will have to hike through the village named Toongsoong and through the valley of Pandam Tea Estate and get to Mineral Spring Village where Tathagata Farm is located. It takes about 3 hours hiking.

"tents are spacious and comfortable."
"If you are a adventurous sort then go for the tents. View wise there isn't much of a difference."
"Tents are specious but cottages have more character."
"The cottages are smaller but have less foot traffic going past. Tents are on the main path so more people likely to pass you."
