Not bad for Mumbi and really good as Indian hotels seem to go. Great location in Colaba, helpful staff (was greeted by the manager while he was having a shave) and nice balcony. The entrance looks terrible, but get up to the first floor and it improves. I stayed in a double room for Rs1250 a night in early Jan....

THE CARLTON HOTEL is 50 mtrs from the famous Taj hotel Colaba.Rrooms run from 800 to 1800,rs.It is not for the faint hearted but a great port of call for international travelers from all over the world. The balcony hosts great meetings where young people plot their next adventure and swap tales.Ddespite having no catering the area is littered with a...

We stayed at the Carlton at the start (Dec) and end (Jan) of our trip. The hotel is perfectly located and traffic was cut off around the hotel for security reasons (due to proximity with the neighbouring Taj), which was a great advantage: a central hotel with far less noise than anywhere else around! The owner and employees are friendly...

The location is good right behind the taj hotel and Gateway of India where i recomend a trip to Elephant Island for a day excursion. It is situated in colaba a upper class district of mumbai only a short taxi ride...

We stayed there for only one night and we were just back from Kerala where we stayed in a 4-star hotel, so of course we felt the room was a little crappy. That said, it's extremely well located and perfect for someone who's on a budget or only want to stay there for a couple of nights. They allowed us...

Wasn't really THAT cheap, but i guess cheap for Colaba; I was sweltering and paid 1500 rupees for a double with airconditioning and a private bath. No wireless internet, but there were some weird friendly people sitting out on the balcony. The hotel was very basic. Felt pretty safe, helpful staff, good wifi place about 50 yards down the street...

Carlton Hotel is located behind Taj hotel, but it's cheaper than Taj, because it's budget hotel, but standard is pretty good. Double room costs about 800 rupees. In room there is TV and fridge, but bathroom and toiled are shared. If you stay longer you can get a discount. The Carlton has a nice open-sitting area where you can sit...

The location is perfect, it`s behind Taj Mahal hotel. You can not expect to much for 1200 Rupia in Mumbai. It is a good accomodation for backpackers. Some rooms have a bath and an icebox. The rooms and the beds are clean, some of the rooms have only windows to the corridor. The staff is very friendly, you can book...
