Pukalani surf café is really great place to go to. They serve great lunch and Juampi was our teacher and he was great: relax, helped the kids kindly and was very friendly. I would advice this surf café on the main road: Calle Tercera Isla Colon.

I stayed at Pukalani hostal in April, and was over whelmed by the kindness of the family who runs it. They made me feel welcome from the first moment I arrived, and they continued to make my experience unforgettable. They accommodated me in every way and truly went above and beyond on numerous occasions. I have never met a more genuine...

Unfriendly staff. Restaurant was closed and surf lessons were unavailable. (Which was not advertised when I booked on the website - should have been at least offered a drink and an apology and a chance to cancel the reservation.) didn't feel very comfortable or welcome. Broken shower. Nothing to put on pancakes.

Management response:

That sound a little odd, we have a new girl and she is super friendly and polite !!! Surf lessons are available just when is waves , is a little difficult to surf without them !!! Broken shower can be anywhere , i was on a vacation couple of days ago in a $200 hotel and shower was broken !!!!...

Super close to to amazing surfing spots and there also is a boat that can take you wherever! Good and friendly staff, clean rooms, Swimming pool is beautiful to relax at for the day! Great all...

I stayed here for about one week and loved it. Super sick place to stay especially if you are a surfer, you can easily get to a couple different surf spots by either walking or taxis or renting a bike. Super mellow atmosphere and the rooms are great, really clean. Also they have a good kitchen if you need to...

We were in Pukalani for one week during our stay in Bocas. The place was recommended to us because of the close proximity to the surf spots (punch, bluff..). The location is quite good, because you can walk to the surfing breaks. The place itself is also quite nice, with a good pool and lots of options to chill. However,...

The place looks nice at first sight but REALLY, no service, no smiles, we had couple problems with the shower and the kitchen, and I mean it was their fault and everytime we went and told them and ask to fix it they made us feel like it was our fault. No outside booze ! Common ! Their beer is...

We stayed for four nights at the Pukalani Hostel. Overall, I have mixed feelings about the place. Although it is very nice setting (pool & beach) and very well maintained, the downside is the staff and the atmosphere it creates. First of all, the place should not be called an hostel. It does not succeed in creating the traditionnal feeling...

We stayed there for four days and we wouldn't go back. We stayed in a lot of hostels in Panama and this is the first time we felt unwelcomed. We (me and my boyfriend) felt like we were invading their privacy by being there since I think that the family lives in the hostel. They were moody and never talked...
