I have been many times to BOcas and that is the only place I would never go back again and won't recommend. It was noisy, smelly, it's not very dirty, but it's also not clean, I had to use my very small travelling towel, because their towels had a suspiscious smell. also they try to charge you more, specially if you use a website to book the room. when I say noisy, it's not because there was noise in the street, their restaurant remains open for them at night and they can start cooking at 11pm or 5 am making huge noise in the kitchen, which connects to most of the rooms. The location is good.

We walked around town trying to find accommodation. The hostels were very expensive even for dorm rooms so privates were out of the question. Don Chicho was still expensive but for a couple sharing in a private with bathroom worked out cheaper for us than staying in a dorm. However the room was clean, we had a balcony view over the square and the bathroom had hot water if required, soap and towels. Rooms were cleaned regularly. Aircon was noisy but very efficient. It was quite noisy being close to the square also and some party was going on over the weekend we stayed.

Good value for money if wasn t for the extremely noisy air conditioning system and the terrible smell of cooking that is constantly present in the room. ...we also had a guest in the room...a cockroach...

don chicho is located at the perfect spot. You can walk everywhere within 5min and you are far enough from the party street to sleep well. As a girl travelling alone i felt safe at all times even at night. There is also a laundry service for 4 dollars you can use. The W lan is fast. The rooms have everything you need and you get towels and soap. there is a liltle veranda with coaches were you can chill and talk to other travelers. The girls at the reception where not friendly at all and they don't smile, i was feeling uncomfortable at the beginning. The guys during the night were much more nicer and also asked how our day was and actually smiled. The girl at the reception never made whole sentences and was answering with "hmm" "Aha" " Ok" at all times showing a kind of attitude. In the rooms its written a warning saying to not to leave anything valuable inside the room (AM i supposed to carry everything with me or what?). I asked the reception and they only shaken their heads. At the end i felt safe at the hotel, but putting a warning like that on the wall and not providing a safe was scary, specially if you travel alone. There was no breakfast included, what would have been nice for the price we pay (High compared to other places in bocas).

We didn't have reservations anywhere since it was the low season. We walked around town for a little bit, and this placed looked nice from the outside. It was $33/night, had private bathrooms, and AC. After two, hot nights in a hostel in Casco Viejo, we wanted a private bath and AC, so we went with it. The rooms were a little on the small side, but they were clean enough. The bed was a little too soft, but the AC worked wonderfully! It was nice to have a private bathroom, and it was clean. We stayed a second night a couple days later after returning to Bocas. The AC in that room didn't work, so we went downstairs. It wasn't a problem at all to switch rooms, and they were very friendly about it! Overall it was comfortable, fairly clean, quiet, safe, and the staff was friendly. The location was right in the middle of town. It was worth the $33, but if you're looking for something on the nicer side, this isn't the place. However, it was good enough for us for a couple nights! Plus, the wifi worked well!
